I have ordered both a foundation kit from Glow & samples from bareMakeup.
Samples: These can be obtained from either Mineral Essence website or bareMakeup. You get to choose 4 foundation shades to sample & the only price is shipping...$5.95. The samples do come in baggies, but they are very decent size...definitely enough to apply to entire face at least 3+ (I'd say 5 or more) times with each shade. The shipping is rather fast...mine took 2 days & that was with ordering a lip brush as well.
Lip brush: LOVE it! This is the best lip brush I've had so far. It's very soft; yet firm (with perfect flex to the bristles), and very convenient for tossing in my purse with the cap.
ME: Mineral Essence Foundation Kit (light): Includes: Foundation L2, Foundation M2, Magic Finish Finishing Powder, Glow Brozer Face Color (all MMU products came in a 20gm jar); 1 Flat Buffer Brush, 1 Angled Blush Brush, 1 Powder Brush, 1 ME Beauty Puff and a silver makeup clutch bag.
Cost: The kit is $76.84 at both ME website and bareMakeup -both places you can custom choose your colors of foundation & face color/bronzer. At bareMakeup you can use a 10% off coupon (mineralbeauty) toward all ME purchases.
I ordered my kit from Glow. The kit was $69.95 & I had a coupon for 20% off (shopetc); with free shipping it was $55.96 + I received 3 free sample products (not ME products). I just wasn't able to customize my kit like the above 2 merchants.
Now, I'll break this kit down starting with foundation...
L2 & M2 Foundation Ingredients: Zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, iron oxide, mica, super oxide dismutase, green tea extract, lipoic acid, Vitamin A, C and E.
M2 works! LOL! --I can also wear L4 (from the samples) with M2. (I have light-medium skin, more neutral than warm) This actually blends beautifully with my skin. This foundation is velvety soft and glides on very smooth. It does soften the pores a bit and feels so soft on the face...it looks very natural. It's not shiny or dull...just right...I love it's natural feel and look. I was able to conceal as well, by using just a spot of the lighter foundation directly after applying my moisturizer. I then waited to apply the foundation after the moisturizer was fully absorbed. I've warn this at least a half a dozen times now...no sensitivities!! On a scale of 1-10...I'd give it an 8+!
Glow, Bronzer Ingredients: Mica 100%, Titanium Dioxide, Superoxide Dismutase, Anti-Oxyzomes Green Tea Extracts, Lipoic Acid, Vitamins: A, C & E. May Contain +/-: Iron Oxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Carmine.
Okay the one ingredient in here I am not too crazy about is the carmine. If you are vegan, you will not want this product, although it seems at the very tail end of the list...everything else looks great.
I put just a few specks of this in the lid. A little does go a very long way. This gives off a very nice color to the face...made me look very healthy and gives a radiant glow (but absolutely no shine...and very classy). I can't believe I am saying this, but I love this product and the color. Again, I've warn it several times and no irritations.
Magic Finish, Finishing Powder Ingredients: Lauroyl Lysine, Starch, Octenylbutanedionate, Aluminum Salt, Cornstarch, Iron Oxide, Mica, Silica, Titanium Dioxide, Green Tea Extract, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin: A, C & E.
I wasn't crazy about the idea of putting starch or corn starch on my face. (--When I tried traditional makeup's attempts toward MMU (hint: Loreal) I dried up fierce and broke out.) I decided to try the Magic Finish. You have to remember here, I am prone to dry and sensitive skin. Well, I applied it...it isn't too bad; although, I liked ME better before applying the Finish. It didn't make my pores appear more noticeable and it hasn't irritated my skin...I still look natural with this finishing powder on & it is very smooth and light...I just don't like it for me. LOL! If I got a little oily then I'd definitely like this product much more.
Flat Buffer Brush:
Oh-My-Goodness! I LOVE THIS BRUSH!!!!! It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo SOFT, the bristles haven't fallen out. I have a tendency toward dry/sensitive skin. I really liked a baby bronzer brush I got from another well loved MMU company, but it was a lil bit scratchy on my face...I had to use it very softly or it would irritate my skin. This ME flat buffer is definitely that...it buffs so wonderfully...so soft...my face felt like it was getting majorly pampered with a delicate massage...it's my fluffer buffer. (Reminded me of the Herbal Essence commercials. LOL!) I may even like this better than my Luscious Kabuki, which I really love too, but this buffer is even softer. *note, this is not a brush for very heavy coverage...more light to medium coverage.
Angled Blush Brush:
This is definitely now my HG blush brush! I am bouncing up and down, in Love with this brush. It applies bronzer and blush perfectly for me...definitely no heavy mistakes needing corrected...and it is just as soft as the flat fluffer brush.
Powder Brush:
Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Am I going nutty here?? This is another awesome brush & just as soft as the other two. They say these are just natural high quality goat hair brushes, but I just don't understand how that can be! I'm imagining these to be more like a luxurious natural Italian Badger hair or luxurious sable. Those must be some majorly pampered goats! LOL! Yep, if you hadn't guessed it, I love this brush too! This brush is sending my other natural powder brush to the curb.
ME Beauty Puff:
Okay, now how in the heck did they do that one??!!! I have a beauty puff from AL (that adorably soft, pink one) & this one is even softer! --It feels like a cross between quality velour and soft fur...thinking of my huskies. lol I still love my pink one (now white), but I see this one will be getting just as much use, if not a wee bit more.
Silver Makeup Bag (-more like a makeup clutch):
I'd easily pay for this bag. It's pretty, very convenient, well made, durable and holds everything in the kit, with room to add a few more items. It looks and feels a lot like leather, but it's definitely not.
Well, I really enjoyed this product line. I love MMU and the foundation and brushes especially from ME are outstanding. I've already placed an order for the Bisque powder & the primer to try out next. Also looking into getting another kit for a gift to a friend. |

Actually I saw this brand on another website & I thought the products sound pretty good, but I will have to wait until I finish all my EM products first before trying anything new. |

I've been inclined to buy some samples of this line but have been sorta afraid to switch from my beloved PureLuxe...But now I just may do it, after I finish my current MMU of course! |

LOL! -Nope, I didn't get paid and don't work for Mineral Essence.
I fell in love with the brushes and foundation...very good product & I've tried 7 different brands of Mineral Makeup.
My favorite MMU foundations are Alima, Mineral Essence and EDM....all are very much worth sampling. |
