I was thinking of Cellosmet...
I have very delicate skin in that area, and a couple of fine lines under the eye.
Or do you think Rose Hip oil would be just as effective?
Or maybe Dr H. Rose Cream? |

ooh...Lucinda! GREAT POST!
I'm going to be keeping my eye on this one!
(And if I get a good eye cream, a very lovely eye at that!)

I always use eye gels because ANY eye cream gives me milia - unfortunately I have leftover milia from using the Valmont Nature one - it's great for dehydrated skin types though. All eye creams depends on your skin type and what you're targeting. I ONLY have puffiness, nothing else so eye gels work best for me - my next order is cellcosmet eye gel, my puffiness is hereditary so I've been looking for a good product to help that all my life. I have only found products to keep it at bay, no HGs so far. I think the most impt thing about eye cream is definitely don't overdo it. Always get samples to make sure it's right for you first - I learned my lesson the hard way and milia under the eyes are the hardest to get rid of. The only way to get rid of them is laser or eye gels (which only makes them smaller).
I'll also keeping an eye on this thread! |

I'm 29 now and I've been using rosehip oil since my early twenties.
I guess it depends on what you want your eyecream to do...I only wanted something that prevented ageing (it seems to have worked!), and was nourishing. I'm not sure how well it would work against dark circles, or to provide any kind of lifting.
Anyhow, like I said, it seems to work well (I don't have any fine lines...but then I do stay well out of the sun too!) and it sinks in easily and feels nourishing. And the best bit, for me anyhow, is that its chemical free. I've also tried the Dr Hauscka Rose day Cream on that area...its nice, but the rosehip oil seems to do more. |

Do you just purchase plain rosehip oil and apply? Is there a place online that sells this?
TIA! |

That's not necessarily true. I got rid of all my eye area milia with the use of ISC firming and active serums. I think any products with high AHA's/retinol will eliminate them. Mine were gone within a couple of weeks and they had been there for around 6 months prior. |

Trilogy sells a 100% pure organic rosehip oil. If you're in the US, you can buy it online thru LAFCO New York for $20. |

I'm 24, and have been using DHC eye products. I use Eye Bright gel in the morning before makeup, and I use Concentrated eye cream at night. My dark circles are beginning to lighten up, to my amazement, and my skin is very hydrated. Neither of these products are geared toward getting rid of wrinkles, just preventing them by keeping the area healthy. I'll probably repurchase both product when I run out! |

Hi, I get mine from Neals Yard Remedies, but if you're ordering from outside the UK shipping might be expensive.
I'm sure you can get it cheaper elswhere...my brother used to use the product from coventgardenlife.com. He swore by this for reducing acne scarring and skin peeling when he was on Roaccutane.
As for applying it, I just get some on my fingertips and gently massage into the eye area being careful not to pull on the skin.
Hope that helps. |

In my case, ISC Active Serum rid me of the milium within 2 weeks. |

Sheens...what type of skin do you have?
I'm oily but I wonder if this would work for me if I only use it around my eyes... |

Haha, my skin is all over the place at the moment! But thats due to medication I'm on for arthritis.
Erm...well, like I said I've been using rosehip oil since I was about 22/23, and my skin has gone through many changes during that time. Mostly its combination and prone to spots around that time of the month, but the medication (when it was a higher dose) made it virtualy an oil slick. Now its combination to dry, because I'm using Retin A to combat the med-induced spots!
So, basically its been most types of skin
During all this time I've used rosehip oil on my eyes with no problem, even when my skin was at its oiliest. (I read somewhere that the eye area has few or no sebum glands, so it needs extra moisture) Most of the time I've used it all over my face in order to heal spots without scarring, but I'd be wary doing it when my skin was oily. I guess if you have oily skin, just using it strictly around the eyes shouldn't break you out at all, just be careful not to get it anywhere else. |

Another thing to watch out for with rosehip is, despite it's amazing regenerative properties, if you do have acne/blocked pore prone skin then the oil can travel from the eye area outwards which could possibly leave you with milia.
I get milia with just about every product I use in the eye area. So I'm really careful about cleansing the eye area twice a day before applying any product. |

How about trying another oil, maybe Jojoba? Jojoba is meant to mimic sebum, and therefore its balancing for oily skins. I use it for getting my eye make up off. If you do a google search for its benefits, some sites suggest it has anti wrinkle properties too (the forum won't let me post up links!) |

Well I guess that makes 2 of us then! I'm glad you only used the active. I wasn't sure which of the two, or combination, got rid of them so quickly. Hopefully if this worked so fast for both of us, it will do the same for others as well. Milia are a pain! |

I'm going to give this a try.
Though they have it on drugstore.com and you get free shipping (at least right now) and LAFCO shipping to where I am was almost 8 dollars.
The Neals Yard version is 39.00 from NY USA so I'll go with the cheapest (still 20 but no shipping).
I'm curious to see how this will work...and very excited! I should use this UNDER sunscreen, right?
TIA! |

I just purchased from my local health foods store (like whole foods, just not as pricey) a small bottle of Rosehip oil. Saved on shipping...if it works okay I'm going to splurge on a better version (this isn't organic, but I found a website that sells organic).
I'm mainly looking to see if it breaks me out or if it makes my undereye too oily.
If I'm not happy with it...I'm not out too much money and I can find other uses for it.
Looking forward to trying it |

I am an eye cream junkie, but, I've found rose hip oil to be just as effective as any of the $$$ products I've purchased.
My current lineup is the Decleor Ylang-Ylang and then a wee bit of Aubrey's Organic Rose Hip Oil around the eye or the Sea Buckthorn at night, since it stains the skin orange.
I was tweezing my brows yesterday and actually noted how plump and healthy the skin around my eyes looked.
I'm also using Aubrey's Sea Buckthorn toner (not liking it that much) and a fairly crappy facial spray from Avene. It's not exactly bad, but, the "mist" is more like heavy squirts and I'm not very fond of the smell.
Anyone have one to suggest? I was thinking Decleor or Caudalie next. |

I started using rosehip oil last night.
WOW...it soaks in fast and I can believe how wonderful the area under my eyes feels after just one use. I hope beyond hope it doesn't break me out. I like the idea of applying something natural.
keeping my fingers crossed! |

Decleor has a nice toner. I like it a lot.
I really recommend MyChelle's Fruit Enzyme Mist. It's cheap and really effective... http://www.mychelleusa.com/index.php?action=item&id=3&prevaction=category&previd=2&prevstart=0 |

The Guerlain Happylogy Glowing Eye Care is the eye cream I'm loving the most! However the Caudalie Eye & Lip Contour Cream which I recently tried is quite nice too, very moisturising & lightweight. But my fav is definitely the Guerlain one! |

Lucinda--you probably found an eye cream by now, don't know if you've tried the cellcosmet. i bought it and found out i was wasting the product since it was perfoming the same as my old eye cream but costs a lot more. i think if you're in your 20s and you don't see any visible problems to fix, getting the cellcosmet eye cream is a bit excessive. |
