I'd heard the diamancel were good foot buffers but I have no idea just how good until I got one. It took a year to talk myself into buying a $36 buffer but I'm glad I did.
It arrived today and I immediately had to test it out. It buffed away callouses that I've been trying for months to get rid of. I've never seen the skin come off so well and so easily (I swear it was snowing!) After 15 minutes my feet are nice and soft. I overdid it on one of my big toes and it's a bit red, but completely painless (unlike my calous shaver).
I'll be throwing away my callous shaver and all other buffers (including the $20 tweezerman one).
I purchased the #20 because it was the cheapest and I find smaller sizes easier to work with. I was a bit shocked to find it so thin, but it worked well. It appears to be stainless steel so it is easy to clean.
wow...I'm impressed.
I got mine at luxbeauty.com for $36 cnd, or $36 usd. Free UPS shipping is you spend over $100 cdn or $70 us |

Carrie bought a Diamancel-alternative for me when I was trying to persuade myself to spend that much $$$ on a foot file. She got me a Ms Manicure one and I'm loving it as well! Actually, I'm glad you reminded me. I'm going to unleash havoc on my feet with it right now before I go have a bath |

I have the number 11 and I just absolutely love it, I have had it for three years and it is still as great as the day I bought it. |

I love my diamancel files. I have two foot files and one nail file. I have had them for a little over a year and still am extremely pleased with the results. |

I have both a Diamancel and an “imposter,” and found that they both work equally well. I posted my complete findings on the head-to-head competition a few months back (click here: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=5113&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25). If I’d known at the time that the imposter did the job just as effectively, I never would spent the fifty bucks on the Diamancel. Oh well, live and learn! |

I saw your review but haven't seen any 'imposter' files around.
What's the name of the beauty store you shop at carrie?? Maybe there's one in the seattle area I can visit next time I'm down there! |

It's actually called "The Beauty Store"!! And I know you can order the Luxor diamond foot file (the other imposter is by "Ms. Manicure," which is the one I sent Mabsy) fromwww.folica.com, though I'm not sure about international/intercontinental shipping.... |

i tried many different brands, including tweezerman. some were ok, but nothing was really good ... never tried Diamancel, though.
our local beauty supply store had a display of nickel foot files. they looked very nice and for about $10, i just had to try one.
what a joy now my friends are hooked too
works on dry skin without soaking. though gentle, it leaves skin baby-soft, even in summer. also, it does nor rust, super easy to clean - just rinse and looks brand-new after a year of use. |

If you think the "cheese-grater" type foot rasp/file is something special, then trying a diamond foot file will really knock your socks off (no pun!). Until I tried one of them, I , too thought that the metal cheese-grating foot rasps were the creme de la creme and it couldn't get any better when it came to buffing away tired old calluses and rough heels, but I was wrong! |

FYI - it seems that the Luxor and Ms. Manicure version’s of the Diamancel foot file are sold out all over the country and on the website from which I normally order them, but on Friday when I was doing some last minute shopping for Faith, I found a store that had a few of the Ms. Manicure “Diamond Dust Pedicure Wands” in stock.
Although it was four days ago when I saw the diamond foot files in stock, I’m planning to go back to that store on my way home from work this afternoon to take advantage of the 50% off sale they are currently offering on all Purelogy products. Until I get there, I won’t know how many, *if* any, diamond foot files they’ll have left in stock, but if you’d like me to grab one for you, send me a PM immediately with your request.
I can’t make any promises that they’ll have any left by the time I get there, but I’ll be happy to pick one up and send it to you for the price of the item ($11.92USD) plus S&H. But hurry up and place your order because this offer won’t last long!
UPDATE: 08/03/05 - Sorry, folks. By the time I got back to the store, they only had one diamond foot file left and Phredd4 claimed it.
ETA - UPDATE 08/04/05: I was able to procure three more diamond foot files, so if anyone wants/needs one just PM me to work it out. |

I LOVE these files. I have had a set for 4 or 5 years now and they look as good as new. Definitely worth the money. I would have purchased several files in this same span of time, but no need with the diamancel. |

I have a file on the way from Carrie. (Thanks Carrie!) I also want to get a good night foot treatment. I was looking at Peter Thomas Roth AHA Exfoliating Foot Cream . Has anyone used this?

Cheri - I haven't tried the PTR cream but I think it's the MD Formulations one that I've heard really good reviews for. Can anyone confirm that? I'm not sure if I'm confusing it with their cuticle cream
Btw, Carrie sent me the Ms Manicure foot file and I love it to bits I've recently found that it's also very good when used on freshly soaked (but DRY) feet. |

I have the md formulations foot cream. It is great. I try to remember to use it everynight before bed, but I usually only use it three or four times a week. It can make a tremendous difference in only a week's time.

I'll try the MD formulations one then. I'm a bit scared to do anything to my feet, but they look so terrible I'll have to do something. I had eczema on the bottoms of my feet for years and just got it cleared up with rx Tazorac and Protopic last winter, so I'll be risking a flare-up. In all those years the only stimulation my feet was allowed was pat drying so they really are rough now. But I soooo want nice feet again I'm willing to take the risk. I still don't have the foot file yet, but I dreamed last night I had beautiful feet. Obviously I can't wait to get started!
