These two oils seem to have similar functions and they are both advertised as having a remarkably similar consistency to our own sebum.
Here is what I have noticed on applying each straight to face as a nightly moisturizer/hormonal breakout fighter:
Jojoba oil tends to dry out acne flareups - helps heal quickly and consistently
Emu oil- reduces inflammation of acne flare ups but doesn't leave dry scabs. However, it doesn't seem to work as consistently as Jojoba.
Any other differences/reason for preferences of one over the other you can list? |

I would actually go for the vegetable dirived squalane, which is very close to human sebum... If you look into this one, look for 100% squalane that states it is vegan, vegetarian or dirived from olives... Squalene is sometimes mislabeled as sqalane and is made from shark livers and is not as close to human sebum as the one that is made from olives.
Take care.

Hmmm - I've never compared the 2 as such because Jojoba is actually classified as a wax. Interesting... any other experiments? |

Just an FYI, that Squalene, while a good product, is known to cause breakouts for oily people so I'd steer clear, if that's the case. I can't use it at all; it breaks me out almost immediately.
Jojoba and emu are both fab and I can use them without issues. Emu's my daily choice, though. |

I Bought some Emu oil from the fair and also ate some Emu Jerky. Both were not to my liking. Just me. |

emu oil seems to absorb much better while jojoba forms a slick on the top of my skin. after having tested all the different types of oil, i finally settled on kukui, n m very happy with it. |

I remember reading a post that said jojoba is better at keeping moisture that you already have, but it doesn't necessarirly moisturize. While emu absorbs easier into the skin and moisturizes. both are good for oily skin. |
