I am curious to try it as i have heard it doesn't smudge. I am looking for a pencil type (i love cake eyeliners but it takes me a long time and most mornings i just don't have time!). I don't even know where to buy the pencil, seems it is only available on the shu uemura website (i don't want to pay $6 shipping and pay near $30 for an eyepencil). there's an ebay seller on ebay but the price is even more ridiculous!
anyone try this? thanks! |

I have not tried the Drawing Pencil but have been using their H9 Eyebrow hard pencil which has worked great for me. Their products are also available in some of the speciality stores which you can search for at (end of the page) - http://www.shuuemura-usa.com/Content/Salons.aspx#10 HTH
I am interested to know how well the Drawing Pencil works too. |

I haven't tried it. I heard raves about their eyelash curler.....I like my $6 drugstore one better. I also use cake eyeliner. I read this tip about appyling cake eyeline...wet your brush, dip it in the cake eyeliner...wait 30 seconds then apply it to your eyes....I had some problems here and there with my smudging. If you don't mind...skicareaddicted...what kind of cake eyeliner do you use? Do you also use cake mascara...I was thinking about trying that. Thanks! |

Hi bex,
I use Chanel's cake eyeliner, i think the proper name is Double Eyeliner Compact/La Ligne de Chanel (noir et marine). It is awesome, exactly like using water colors. I don't know if they have it at chanel counters, i don't think they carry it here in the states, i got mine off ebay. reviews here:
http://makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemID=47805/Chanel_Cake_Eyeliner_aka_double_eyeliner_compact/la_ligne_de_Chanel_(noir_et_marine)/Chanel/Eyeliner/
I have never tried cake mascara but i have run across it and the concept does interest me. i am not really a mascara kind of gal though, it smears too much and if it doesn't like blinc kiss me, i am scared of taking it off each night since it comes off in tubes and i feel like i am losing my lashes .
Hi Goofygal,
Thanks for your reply but i checked neiman marcus online and they don't have the drawing pencils either so i don't know if the actual dept store would have it? and sephora only has the eyelash curlers and a few other products. looks like i will have to end up ordering from the site afterall.... |

hi addicted
i have tried the shu drawing pencil...and it DOES smudge...and it is also very hard to remove. I use L'Occitane Cleansing Water to remove my make up, and it can remove waterproof mascara with just 2 swipes, but I had to swipe several more times when I am wearing the Shu drawing pencil and even then I still felt it's not toally gone.
I will not be repurchasing this |

Hi Poppy,
Thanks for your input. Maybe I won't get this after all. All eyeliners smudge on me, even ones that i purchase precisely because most reviewers say it doesn't smudge . i guess i am just too oily for pencil liners.
Have you tried MAC powerpoints? I find some powerpoint formulations to be super smudgy (engraved) while others like "buried treasure" to be pretty ok. If you have tried any of the good powerpoints and how do you compare that to the shu uemura one? |

No I haven't tried the MAC one...
You and I have the same problem I guess. I have oily skin too and am still looking for a smudge-free pencil liner. I guess the Shu would be good enough for those with non-oily skin since it seemed to have many good reviews in some magazines.
I had my make up done on my wedding day and the eye liner stayed on beautifully until the end of the evening...but silly me was too preoccupied with the day's event that I forgot to check out the brand ! But at least there's still hope for us oily gals...Let me know when you found one that works? |

Thanks skincareaddicted for the link! I'll check it out. Poppy....after I apply my liner I dust it with powder and apply it again, that seems to help when I'm using a pencil or MAC fluidline. |

One cheap alternative is to use a black eyeshadow cake liner. I normally wet the eye liner brush and coat it with lots of black eyeshadow and test it on the back of my hand to ensure that the consistency is right before application. When I want it really dark and intense, I ensure that I mix in alot of eyeshadow and at times I apply it over my eyeliner. You can mix it with other colors as well. |

Hi bex,
mine kinda looks like that, but the 2 colors on my palette are actually blue and black. I tried looking on ebay for the exact one but no sellers seem to have it at this time. I found it on sasa.com, it's this one to be exact:
http://web1.sasa.com/SasaWeb/eng/product/viewProductDetail.jspa;jsessionid=8230975bee63j$C2$AC$?itemno=1002382
I have had the eyeliner for seriously like 3 years, and have barely made a dent in it. i think it's gonna last forever! hope that helps and if you have an questions about it at, let me know . |
