Does it really help condition the lashes? I'm using it during the day and using JM at night. I have a tube of the Ardell and I've had it for 9 months but just started using it again, should I go buy another, do you think this one is bad? What kind of results are any of you out there have with Ardell? |

Definitely go buy another if you have already opened it. I have noticed that Ardell goes off very quickly, it also turns a white-ish colour with a strong odour. If you try to use it once it has gone off, you might end up with an eye infection!!!! |

I agree it's time for a new tube. I think it is every 3-4 months that mascara should be changed. |

I would just love to try the JM product, but,I haven't won the Lotter yet.
But, the Ardell Lash Excelerater is in my price range.I found some at RiteAid for $3.99.
Last night I squeezed open a Cod liver capsule and put it the tube.
Then I put a very small drop of MSM in my hand and then carefully put along my lash line.
My lashes are blonde and fine.I am hoping to
get the 1000 Hour Lash Tint.
I will let you know after 2 weeks how things are going with my new recipe.

Um...what color is yours when you buy it? Mine is transparent white/gray and the smell isn't awful...but it's noticable. It was like this when I first opened it, and I wonder if it was already bad. |

Mine was clearish grey with no distinctive strong scent, but it wasn't odourless either.. It was only when I came back from a holiday and opened the tube up 6 months later and took a whiff that it was this heavy chemical like scent and the serum had turned whiter. I think you can notice it when it is off. But I was prone to getting small eye infections with Ardell as well, it just isn't very hygienic.. |

The Ardell isn't very hygenic? I started using Ardell over the summer and I got an eye infection for the first time. Last week the same thing happened, and I didn't know if it was my eye makeup or not cleaning my contacts well enough. It was bacterial, because the antibiotics I was given work both times. |

I had an Ardell that turned very quickly. I was surprised because I had it less than a month. I thought I had bought an "old" tube and that it had probably been sitting on the store shelf too long. I went back to Mavala. |

I've never had this problem with Ardell nor noticed any odor. This is one of my staple products as I not only use it at night as a lash conditioner. I also use it as a mascara primer during the daytime. Many thanks to Carekate for finding this for us!

What sort of eye infection specifically? I am prone to blepharitis, inflammation of the oil glands so I get small styes along the lash line. It is more common in those with heavy eye lids and oily skins. And soon after I started with Ardell I got a persistent inflammation in one eye lid.
Don't mean to sound like I'm knocking the product, because it was great for what it did to the lashes. Just that, eye products in generally, especially those being used so close that it could seep into the eye, need to take care and replace often. |

perhaps those prone to eye infections should use the ardell to condition the length of the lashes and try to keep away from the base of the lash roots? i used to apply mascara that way when i was allergic. |

It had all the symptoms of pink eye; I got my prescription for Ofloxacin from Urgent Care, but when I told my eye doctor about it, he said he thought it was from calluses on the eyelids that are common with wearing contacts. But, I got this infection for the first time a few months ago, and have been wearing contacts since I was 14. I don't know what it was, but if I ever use that stuff again, I'll probably use q-tips instead of the wand. |

I thought you had to get Ardell into the roots, because that is where any growth stimulants actually work, otherwise it would only condition the lashes. I suppose you will inevitably get some run-off into the roots anyhow.
I also experienced some irritation/inflammation with Lucia.. I think my eye is just PRONE to such things because the crease of my lid is very close to the lash line so it would only be trapping dirt/oil into the pores.
If I ever get an eye-lift, it would not be for reasons of vanity.. It would save me lots of pain and $$ for non-subsidised eye treatments |

Just like you should toss out a tube of mascara after three months and get a new one for concerns regarding bacteria and contamination, so too should you get a fresh tube of Ardell at least every 3 months. Even if you’ve only used a mascara or tube of Ardell once and then tossed it in a drawer forgotten for months, it can still build up bacteria during that dormant period and should not be used.
If you’re not sure if it’s time to toss it, err on the side of caution and cough up another few bucks to buy a fresh tube! |
