first, congratulations......I know to avoid vitamin a products i.e. retinoids etc..even though its theorized that miniscule amts. are absorbed systemically. I think vitamin c is ok because it is a water soluble vitamin and not lipid soluble like (A,D,E,K). lipid soluble can build up, cross placenta and can be toxic. There are many websites that talk about this issue just doing a general search..Belli even has an anti-cholasma sunscreen(25dollars) and other products for pregnancy...much better to play it safe and not worry...I hope everything goes well with your little pumpkin... |

I would suggest you to look for organic products during pregnancy. As I know, pregnant women shouldn't be using products with BHA and vitamin A derived product such as retinol. Most of the brands have chemcials but that would not be enough to risk your baby's health BUT since we are exposing to too much chemcials nowadays, it's hard to find out how much chemcials have accumlated inside our body. Many researches have found out that chemicals like MIT in shampoo, and SLS in toothpaste, shampoo and almost all facial cleansers may have related to learning problems and nerve demages in brain.
Therefore, I would suggest to play safe by switching to organic products during pregnancy. |
