It comes in a candy pink colored tube and has a candy green lid/wand - I know I have seen it.. and it is not an expensive brand.. but for the life of me I cannot place it. |

Thank you! I knew it was one of those more common brands but it has been driving me crazy.
BTW for those who follow what celebs use, that is one that Mischa Barton says "never fails her". She did a casual interview thing in Japan - and in typical style here they did all kinds of embarassing stuff to her (she was much more accommodating than Beyonce was).. at one point they emptied her handbag out (LV denim) and out came mostly make-up - oh and her keys. She had a couple of mascaras in the bag, including this one. |

well, it was her birthday and they had these famous people get her presents.. and she was a bit of a party pooper and would not participate (ie did not want to mess up her appearance). First guy gave her Rose stuff.. rose jam and some other rose thingy. Next they had some famous Japanese chef create special fried chicken for her (supposed to be her favorite) but she would not even take one bite (mind you they prepared wings or legs or something, not exactly bite sized and they used garlic in the crumbs)... so I could understand that. THEN Matsudaira Ken-san (famous for his flashy kimono dancing ... http://www.ken-matsudaira.com/ ...) gave her one of his kimono costumes including wig and she would not try it on. Misha Barton on the other hand was very open and was happy to put on stupid glasses and stuff. |

lol thanks tiger_tim for the beyonce story!! I didn't expect her to be so uptight I would've loved the chicken My stomach is grumbling as I type this!
As for the mascara, for the life of me, I DON"T UNDERSTAND why it's in every magazine saying it's the best thing ever! It makes my lashes stick out in a lethal-manner and really do not voluminze or lengthen. I only give it credit for the color, which is really sad for a mascara! |

I'm with you on this one. It's cheap, so that's good but I can't understand the fuss. |

OK, let me see if I can remember what Ms. Mischa hauled out of her bag... a black eyeliner (brand.. um...), a HUGE make-up brush, the maybeline mascara, the Clinique highlighter powder stuff, an Estee Lauder lip gloss.. um.. and then another mascara (long white tube, no idea the brand).. and I think that was it. |

long white tube mascara might be Almay, since she using the maybeline, they can both be bought at a drug store. |

It's called Maybelline Great Lash mascara and the blackest black color IS the blackest I've ever used. It looks very good when you are wearing little makeup and need something for a bit of polish. I prefer Estee Lauder More Than Mascara when I'm doing full-on eye makeup. |

I couldn't agree more, this has puzzled me for years. It is a terrible mascara. |

It's a conspiracy, I tells ya.
Actually, it's not a terrible mascara if you already have nice eyelashes, but if you already have nice eyelashes, why use mascara?
And who carries around several tubes of mascara and a full-sized makeup brush in their purse? Especially when they are going to be on a television set where I presume there is a makeup artist in residence? |

lol! I was hoping somebody would ask this.
Also, I HATE maybeline greatlash, it is I think, the worst mascara I've ever used. I used it for years because all of those magazines recommended it, thinking nothing would be better then I discovered makeupalley |

Maybelline Great Lash and it's terrrrrrible.
Makes my lashes clump, stiff, prone to breaking off, and gives me raccoon eyes. Yick! |

I'm not a big fan of this mascara either. I do like the brush ... I like mascara brushes that aren't too "bushy" and are more slender. But I find this mascara itself seems so "wet", doesn't dry very quickly and smudges horribly!
My fav ... still Lancome Definicils. Although I've been using some Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara GWP samples and it's not bad either. |
