I got a sample of this gel because of one thing.... I read the ingredients and one of the items listed was "Balm Mint" Smile

I've used this three times and I quite like it. I does not feel minty or tingly, though I did feel a slight cooling sensation as I washed it off. Mind you that could have been because I REALLY wanted this to give me that minty tingle *blushes* This comes in a clear gel that you rub in your wet palms to foam it up a bit (it doesn't foam up a lot) and then massage on a damp face.

In terms of its cleansing abilities, it does well to remove makeup and it can also be used around the eye area without causing any redness or stinging (at least not in my case - just a little disclaimer :P). My face afterwards felt clean but not stripped. Like I said I quite like this, but if it's not going to be minty then I would prefer to use the YonKa Gel Nettoyant because I like the smell (the Special Gel Cleanser in unscented).

I tried the Special Cleansing Gel again recently so I thought I would follow up and confirm that I still like it and consider this to be a very good choice of cleanser. I got a nice Dermalogica kit when flying business with Qantas back in December and a tube of the special cleansing gel was in there. I actually had forgotten that I ever wrote a review about it - glad I checked or it would have been embarassing... Laughing

This is soap-free and fragrance-free. You only need a little bit and it lathers quite well. I have used over the last week and have also been using this to remove eye makeup. No stinging AT ALL and I really slathered it all over my lashes to remove mascara. I found it removes mascara (or at least DiorShow) *very* well as well as removing eyeshadow and even eye liner. Quite impressed with it in terms of makeup removal actually. After rinsing off my face feels just.... normal.... - no tight feeling at all. I'm actually considering getting a travel size of this if they exist.

Yup! I love it too..I use it in the morning (when I don't have time for OCM) and also when I'm feeling lazy.. Laughing

Its my 2nd bottle now. I like how it comes in a pump bottle (473ml) and it lasts a loooong time.

I recommend it too! It is refreshing and cleanses well without being overly stripping... the lather is sort of slippery and luxurious feeling ( it approximates, minus the green colour, La Mer's foaming cleanser in almost every visible way to use).
You know Mabsy, I have never used it around my eyes because it was a foaming one but you saying that... I am going to give it a go! That would be great! Smile

muzzie - I'd be really interested to see how you go with this around the eye area. I don't have sensitive eyes but this did not produce even the slightest hint of discomfort for me at all, whereas I do have problems with eye makeup removers stinging my eyes.

AHA! Well I did the "acid test" last night Mabsy and I did one eye with Dermalogica Soothing Eyemakeup remover( my standard one) and the other with their Special Gel Cleanser... I had mascara, eyeshadow, liner and even brow stuff on yesterday so it was a good test.
I was too scared to open my eye during the procedure ( merely because is a foaming cleanser! Rolling Eyes

) but I just wet the area and swooshed around a tiny bit of it and you could feel it lathering up a bit( a saviour with that gel cleanser is that slippery factor it has) and then I opened the OTHER eye... and peeked and saw it was definitely removing everything... I used a wet sea sponge to gently wipe off the excess then gave a little splash of water to rinse... and had a look. All gone ... and just as you said ... no sting... no redness. Wow!
The other eye fared exactly the same .... the only difference being the liqui/gel texture of the Soothing Eyemakeup remover doesnt lather....so you can dare to open your eye if you have to... but otherwise the results were the same in feeling and in terms of how much junk they got off and how quickly! So ... well well wellllllll.... you may have stumbled onto something big here!!! Smile

Lol... me too! You'd have been in big trouble if it was horrible! heheh.. naa... it was a big surprise. Some cleansers make your eyes water just going nearer than your nose!

...I've just ordered this, and Mabsys words are what pushed me over. A cleanser thaat does mascara and doesn't sting is a HG must have in my world...
