I think I need a better mascara than I currently have as I get panda eyes by the end of the day.
I did a search for waterproof on another beauty site and saw that it had been said to get water resistant rather than waterproof (apparantly better for your lashes).
Any ideas please?

hi Emma2006!
I can only comment on drug store mascaras and blinc kiss me... they may not be called water resistant, but I have found them to have good lasting power (and don't smudge off)
- lash exact by cover girl - love this stuff!
- cover girl remarkable lash - this did not hold my curl, but does stay on until you want it to come off!
- lash stlyist by mabelline (LOVE the formula, HATE the brush... I ended up putting another mascara wand into the tube to put it on with... stays on VERY WELL and comes off only when you want it to!)
- I also really like the waterproof version of maybelline's volume express - I find that it gives good volume, holds my curl and although it is waterproof washes off very easily with basic face wash! - this would be my #1 choice for sure!
- blinc Kiss Me - great concept... but I found pulling all the "tubes" off my lahes to feel more damaging that using make up remover. a lot of people swear by this, and it does last! and comes off only when you want it too! but I hated the fact that I was pulling on my lashes so much!
HTH!!!! |

I really like Maybelline Full and Soft in both the regular and waterproof varieties. I had started out only using the waterproof kind because I always seemed to have a problem with mascaras ending up running and accentuating my undereye circles.
Anyway since I liked the waterproof kind I thought I would try out the regular to give my lashes a break, and I'm glad I did! It really stays put, and doesn't run or or anything (even though it doesn't say water-resistant). I do apply a primer to my undereye area and I think that helps too. |

Hi Panda,
Does the Anna Sui one dry your lashes at all. I don't use a primer?
Also, is this product tested on animals?
Thank you.

Hi Emma! I saw at Mecca today a new mascara by DuWop (I think) that uses the word water resistant. Maybe you can try that out? |

YSL is the best waterproof mascara ever. It is the only one that I use. |

I read in the paper on sunday that regularly using waterproof mascara pulls your eyelashes out.
Is this true?!
Anyone know? |

Specialty: Blinc is great but I now prefer Mirenesse because it has a better wand. Same technology - tiny tubes. Will say, though, nothing holds up to sea water.
Department store: Shiseido has been incredibly difficult to remove - and not even the water-resistant version. |

I think that some brands can do this - I suppose it might not be the formulation but because you have to tug a bit extra to get it off.
I did read that water resistant is gentler - I don't know if that is just as fancy name for water resistant though. |

Most water-resistant (no such thing as waterPROOF) mascaras are very drying to lashes and difficult to remove. Many people end up damaging or pulling their eyelashes out.
90% of the time I use water-resistant mascara because it dries faster (hence, holds a curl better). I'm very careful with mascara removal. |

hm. I tend to use max factor waterproof /resistant ( whatever it is?!) mascara, as it doesnt smudge.
Maybe I'll rethink this.. |

I.D. B.E makes a "Weather eveything mascara" and they even have a weather evrything sealer that goes over eye make up . . .you can swim in this stuff and it iwll not budge! I just don't know if all that is needed . |
