I recieved the sample a while ago but ignored it after only trying it once and my forehead started to clog. Anyway, lately i'm going through this chin breakout period because of stress from school and i dont have any other zit cream at home so in desperation i reached for this balm. The result amazed me!!! I woke up this morning chin looked so much clearer and definitely less red so i think from now on i'm going to use this balm as a spot treatment. Great stuff!!! |

Really glad to hear that it worked so well for you! I've got combo skin and find that it works wonder to clear up skin and reduce blackheads. Plus with how little you have to use each time, the jar will last YEARS!

Mabsy,
Do you put it all over your face? or only on problem areas? I too have combination skin.

Hi Collette,
I also have combo skin (sometimes it's normal, sometimes it's combo) and I usually just put this all over but avoid the eye area.

Hi Mabsy,
Have you tried clarins lotus oil or darphin purifying balm? (i'm currently using those two)
I've always wonderred how the decleor one compares with the two, especially the darphin balm.
Thanks! |

Hi Sparkle
Yes, I've tried both of these. In all honesty I only eve got through about 1/4 of the Lotus oil. I didn't really like it much and didn't see any results with it that would make me want to continue.
The Darphin Purifying Balm is very nice and IMO it's pretty much the same as the Decleor Essential Balm (they both smell nice but the Darphin smells a tad nicer to me ). I got a rather generous sample of it from Mecca and I also had a sample of the Essential Balm from EDS. Both were great and gave me pretty much the same results. I went with Essential Balm because it was cheaper (and larger) and seemed to be doing the same thing.
Btw, I did buy the Darphin Desincrustant lotion at Mecca and it's really good. I do use it under the Essential Balm sometimes when my skin is looking really unhealthy.
HTH

oh thanks Mabsy..
I'm quite happy with darphin already, i got really generous samples from mecca ( a whole whopping 9ml!) since i did a very big purchase once.
But after i finish with darphin, i think i might move to decleor essential balm seeing it's much bigger (though with balms they last forever!) and probably will do the same thing :P
as long as it's layerable with the desincrustant lotion than that's great for me!
p.s. desincrustant lotion works really well with jurlique calendula cream, so now i can use the lotion quite often without getting the funny feeling skin afterwards!
