I want to get my kids started with the right products. Looking for good baby shampoo, body wash, diaper rash creme, etc.

I prefer organic or all natural products. Please share your experience.

Thanks

Great question. I think more and more mommies, and mommies to be should consider using organic lines. Don't we all want the best for our babies? And what a great way to give them and their skin a healty start. There are quite a few organic lines out there for babies. Here are a few links to some great brands:

Dr Hauschka:
http://www.drhauschka.com/holistic-products/lifestyle/mom-baby.aspx

Lavera:
http://www.lavera-sa.com/products.php?p=products&parent=20

Weleda:

Druide:

Jurlique:
http://secure.jurlique.com.au/osau/products_list.asp?category=2&subcategory=

Aubrey Organics:

Erbaviva (This is a line I once found doing a search and I saved the link. Not well known but looks like an intersting line.

Hope that helps.

I love burt's bees baby bee line!! I especially love the shampoo bar...the smell is devine. I give the little gift bag to everyone I know that has a baby and many have switched to it.

Mustela is really nice, but it tends to get a bit expensive to use every day...

There are some other organic products that I have bought at whole foods, but I can't think of the name at the moment...I'll take a look next time I go.

This is a great thread since so many baby lines use mineral oil or SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) for sudsing.

With 3 kids, Burt's Bees Diaper Rash Cream w/ lavendar oil is a winner. It's a bit goopy but the lavendar oil will clear up the rash overnight. I used to make my own butt goop w/ lav oil before it came in a tube.

Arbonne also has some great natural products. Pediatricians recommend the baby oil and baby wash to clear up baby eczema. (Like me,seems just about everyone I meet has a kid with this.)

Unfortunately dairy seems to lead to eczema...getting mine off that stuff cleared it up and colds were minimal too... Very Happy

DHC has a babycare line, I haven't used it yet as I don't have any babies currently Laughing , but the prices seem very reasonable:

I use pure vegetable oils on my daughter (age 2). Now with winter having arrived, I use rosehip seed oil on her face (good barrier to the cold, it seems). I usually wash her hair with either pure castile soap or rhassoul (boy, does she love that!) but I generally don´t overwash her hair. When she was in diapers I used oil if she got a rash, which happened about twice.

I don't have any babies yet, but when I do I plan to use Burt's Bees Baby Bee Products. They smell wonderful, and the all-natural ingredients are great, plus they are pretty affordable.

Thanks for the great responses. I like Weleda and think you get a lot of bang for your buck. Will probably try Dr. Hauschka as well.

Hi,

I know rosehip oil is often recommended for mature skin due to its effect on wrinkles etc. So it is also safe on baby skin? Thanks!

I just started using it when she got a scatch under her eye. It helped (I guess) in making the scar fade, so I simply stared using it on her cheeks when it got colder. I really am not sure if it´s considered safe or not, btu I do know it´s used for the delicate eye area, so I´m hoping I´m in the clear. I wouldn´t use in on babies though (my dd is 2,5), I use other oils on her body and when she was younger. Hope that helps.

Thanks! My 9 month old niece has eczema and I am always trying to find out what is good to use on babies.

Rosehip or any edible oil would be perfect for a baby's skin Smile I wish more parents would be so considerate about their children's products Smile

Hehe Laughing I will pass along my primerva rosehip oil to my sister. She had success with aquaphor but it was just very slimy.

I just took the plunge and bought some of the Gaia Baby products because they were on sale. I'll post feedback after I've used them for a few weeks.
