I currently have a cart load of the newly listed Caudalie body products just waiting for my next check-out (which will be when the large size grapewater is back in stock!).. so, I was wondering.. anyone here tried any of the Caudalie products for body before?
I am most excited that the fragrance is there! I have been lemming for that for ages! |

Hi tiger_tim - After trying and liking Caudalie Radiance Serum (which didn't get rid of my freckles but I love the fragrance and use it as a light, nightime moisturizer), I bought some Fleur De Vigne Moisturizing Lotion (for body). It's light and milky and also smells wonderful (to me anyway). This led to buying the Fleur De Vigne Spray because I really liked the scent.
There was another, older thread about Caudalie scents, and indeed it's the scents as well as the light texture of their products I've sampled that's hooked me. |

Hmm... you say the large grape water is out of stock here? I just tried to order it from skinstore and they're out of stock too--- does anyone know what the hold up is? I go through about a bottle a month and I'm running pretty low... |

I'm curious...can the people who use this "grape water" product tell me what it is they like about the product? I went online and did a search and found that this is grape water extract. Extracts, in the cosmetic industry are almost always mostly water, with a very tiny bit of the active ingredient in it. It is true that there are some anti-oxidant properties to grapes, but at that small percentage, what possible benefit can really come of it?
To look at it another way, I can buy a 16.9 oz. bottle of pure Dasani water at the convenience store for $1.00. If I bought the same same amount of this grape extract water I would pay $64.61! And you are definitely buying mostly water with a product like this. Pretty good markup for the manufacturer don't you think?
Just a "consumer smart" tip for you guys.

I'm sure Liz will tell you why she loves it....after being here a while, manslayerliz and Caudalie Grape Water became synonomous to me. |

I don't think Caudalie grape water is grape extract mixed with water.
I think their grape water is the water that's used to separate the stems, skins, and seeds from the grape meat during winemaking. This is what I surmise from reading about spas which use grape water.
John, could you please tell me where you read about grape water extract?
I've been thinking about using this as a toner. I'd like a toner that does nothing else but help lower pH after cleansing. Not interested in the cleansing or moisturizing toners. I suppose I could just use apple cider vinegar mixed with distilled water, but it wouldn't be as neato as a finished product. |

Is the fragrance and EDT or EDP? Make sure you review it once you've tried it! Along with lip glosses, I'm a fragrance junkie as well.
I'll be including the grape water in my next order. I received a sample of the Buffing Cream (for face) in my last Sephora order... I love it. I'm trying to decide whether to purchase that or try the Jurlique face wash cream. I'm a little torn right now!!!
I love it that Caudalie has two sizes so you can always try a smaller size for many of their products. |

ParisTroika: I have tried a sample of the Jurlique Face Wash (courtesy of our lovely Carrie) but for that kind of cleansing, I think the Dr. H. one is better. Jurlique is very similar to Dr. H, but coarser and hece falls of the face more. (um, I think I am talking about the same cream you are... )
John: oh, the mysteries of women. Unfortunately no matter how many science degrees you take, you will be no further to working us out.
Why grape water? OK, first let me say I am a spritz freak. I have tried everything from a spray bottle filled up with Evian (I refuse to pay for atomizers of the same water I can drink) through to rosewaters, spritzes with essential oils, deep sea waters (Shu Uemura Depsea) etc. etc.
I always have 2 or 3 kinds of spritz on hand, one with "extras" to nourish my skin in dry conditions and one to moisten my face before applying serums or to quickly hydrate in the office etc.
I have three pet hates with spritzers: pumps that dont work properly (I like a nice fine, even, mist); for office use - those that leave a a buildup of film on the skin during the day (ones with essential oils are the worst offenders); and those that have a lot of unwanted extras in them (ie glycols etc).
What I love about the Caudalie grape water is that is has the BEST misting pump - very fine, even and continuous. Because there is nothing added there is no build-up (no matter how many times I spritz). BUT it also "feels" different to spritzing with plain old mineral water. Spritzing with plain bottled water is fine to use just for moisture when applying creams or serums, but it is useless as a sprtiz in the office, my skin is left feeling dry, whereas with the grapewater leaves my skin feeling hydrated but never oily and with no build-up.
Moreover, after forum discount it is only about US$9 for the large can, so I think that is not too bad for what it does for me. |

oops, ParisTroika, I forgot to add, I think it would be EDT for the price and description (Caudalie Fleur de Vigne Fresh Energizing Fragrance). Again, they have two sizes, so I will get the small one to be sure I like it first. I have been desperate to try this since someone was talking about it on the Lounge Board, but have never been able to find it in a shop. |

I gave Dr. H a good stint and used a whole tube, not really crazy about it at all...I'm leaning towards the Caudalie Buffing cream because I've used it and really like it...it's just more expensive than the Jurlique.
Since you love your spritzes, have you tried the Caudalie beauty elixer? I hear it's fabulous! |

ooh... yes, I did!! I had the small bottle and it got used up very quickly. It smells devine and feels so refreshing. I have considered getting some to use at work just for when I am falling asleep at the PC and need a little wake-up. Hmm.. maybe a little bottle of that to add to the cart would be good. Shame there is not Caudalie GWP at the moment. My cart currently has their herbal tea, fragrance, shower gel, firming concentrate, (will have) 4 large grapewater, and now (yes I just ducked over and added it) a large size Beauty Elixer. Urgh. I am hopeless. hopeless. hopeless. |

HAHHAHAAHAHAHA, oh my goodness, my sushi secret you made my day! Yes, it's true, I love that Caudalie Grape Water. I probably go through a big bottle of it each month. As for what makes it so special, well, it may just be grape water, but it actually smells grapey, so I definitely don't feel like I'm using plain old tap water with just a drop of something else. Also I enjoy the fine mist and I enjoy the smell, plus it definitely seems to agree with my finicky skin, so I keep using it. |

Hey, would one of you Caudalie junkies mind posting the actual ingredient lists of this infamous grape water and/or the Beauty Elixir? I want to see what's in 'em to determine if it's possible to come up with a DIY version. I'm wondering if the grape water is some sort of grape hydrosol or grape "floral water"...?
TIA! |

One other question: is the mister-bottle of your grape water refillable (i.e.: does it look like you could easily disassemble it for washing/sterilizing/reusing)? Assuming that I can come up with a reasonable DIY facsimile, it sounds like the misting bottle itself is more than half the attraction.... |

O.K. Re: grape water thingy-yes, god forbid I don't follow the trend
The bottle is not reusable if that's what you mean-it's like a hairsparay bottle- old-style-don't know if the large one is different.
Ingredients: Vitis Vinifera (Grape) fruit water, nitrogen.....BUT, the grape water is extracted from said grapes at HARVEST TIME. sorry, having visual of us figuring out when harvest time is & picking grapes.
O.K. I spritzed-nice, dries fast (unlike spraying with water). Don't see anything--nothing special really.Mind you, I got the wrong one. I wanted the one coveted by the princess of hungary or someplace |

Well it IS your fault I got it in the first place. But I have to learn how to use it. You should SEE me squinting & puckering when I'm spraying can you tell I've never spritzed before? |

The one used by the Queen of Hungary is the Beauty Elixir. It has quite a strong smell of peppermint and really stings my eyes when I spray it on. |

Carekate, I would agree that maybe the spritzer itself must be a hugh part of the attraction. I love several types of sprays but I always give them up because the mist is never fine enough. I have been all over my favorite DIY shop trying. I think if I found the perfect dispenser, the DIY possibilities would be endless.
BTW my DIY shop is in Seattle. It's called Zenith Supply. They do sell online and have TONS of oils, both carrier and essential. Plus huge bins of all types of containers, jars, sprayers, rollers...very fun and I would suggest it for anyone who finds themselves here. |

Do any of you spritzers spritz over MMU? If so, would Caudalie Grape Water be appropriate for this? |
