i have been using Clinique moisture-on-line for a few years, and felt satisfied until recently I am feeling dry skin even after the cleaning(kose), toner(Clinique2) and Moisturer(Clinique), Moisture on line(Clinique) and Moisture surge eye gel(Clinique).
Those are most moisture products I think in Clinique, and now I don't know what to do?
My friend tells me that i need to change the skincare products once for a while. Is it right?
My firend also suggests me use Decleor. Is Decleor specifically for very dry skin? Which product i should buy?
Or any other brand good for dry skin?
thank you |

First of all, Clnique is not considered a professional skincare line. These are "luxury cosmetics/skincare" sold in department stores. Their ingredients are not as active as what professionals use. Secondly, their 3-Step System can prove to be very drying to skin. Why? Their clenasing bars are very detergent-based. The clarifying toners contain a lot of cosmetic alcohol & menthol (that tingly feeling you get), which is even more drying & dehydrating for your skin. Their Dramatically Different Moisturizer isn't so "dramatically different", because you have to wear OTHER moisturizers on top of this! Pretty complex, and the Decelor products that you have asked about are a lot more simple.
Decleor is not simply for dry skin; they have many products to help & treat various skintypes. For your skin, let's suggest a few basics: cleanse with Nutrivital or Velvet Cleansing Milk, tone with Dermofloral or Tonifying Lotion, follow with Angelique Oil, and for a good basic moisturizer, you may want to try their Hydrafloral Creme.

Your professional comment has completely crashed my mercy on Clinique.
As Decleor is a little expensive for me, I also have an idea of trying the H2O products. Can you tell me if the H2O good with dry skin?
Thank you very much!

Some "professional" products aren't even that good either. If you need a toner after cleansing, I have to say the cleanser isn't doing its job. Many of the high end skin care products are too over priced, too highly rated and don't do what there're supposed to do. This is my biggest complaint about the cosmetic industry. |

Hi Momo,
I agree, Clinique is not the greatest brand out there but there are also bad "professional" products too, which leave you feeling very ripped off due to thier prices. I suggest possibly simplifying your routine and investing in some quality products. Start by getting a good milk or lotion cleanser, a mild exfoliant and a light toner which acts as a hydrator as well. For a moisturizer I would suggest using some organic base oils such as rosehip, hazelnut or macadamia which are great for dry skin. The brands I use are Dr Hauschka and Primavera. Yes they may seem pricey at first but the products last a long time as you don't use as much with each use. Good luck in your search. |

Ahh there is your problem as to why your skin is dry. CLINIQUE!!! I used to use the 3-step clinique products and had majorly dry skin. I found out it is due to the toner which contains alchohol which is very drying to the skin. My skin began to be all flaky and dry. There are tons of bad reviews on clinique products on this forum. I would suggest you to stop using the clinique. Try using another line of products. I wouldnt say you have dry skin, because your dry skin is caused by clinique product. So before buying a whole new line of products specifically for dry skin, wait a little while. Use a gentle non-drying cheap cleanser like cetaphil or spectrogel for a couple weeks until your skin gets to it's normal condition. |

Momo, I can hardly remember which product from Clinique I have tried, but I believe Clinique definitely does not work for me and I think it doesn't work for many people too...see the following thread for details:

I don't know your age but you should have some idea that your skin condition will change with your age, right?! It is a good idea to change your skin care products from time to time. To me, dry skin is not something hard to tackle compared with blackheads, large pores and freckles.
Decleor is good for me now but it broke me out when I used it 5 years ago...strange eh? I suggest you to get some samples to try out first before making big investment. |
