Can someone please help? I need to put a stop (or slow down) the wrinkles that are starting to develop underneath my eyes and the "ll's" on my forehead. I would also like to brighten my skin up, it looks so sallow looking lately. Right now I use spectro jel cleanser and dove moisturizer...I know...not too dramatic for line reducing, but it works for me and doesn't break out my sensitive skin! The only thing is its not great at plumping and firming. Anything out there that would be appropriate for sensitive skin? And if you have sensitive skin, could you share your skincare routine? TIA! |

I find the decleor vitaroma range very good and alphaderma is great for all over the face and is sunfactor 15. I think that sunfactor is the best anti-aging product a person could use and I have tried lots of wrinkle prevention creams |

I would add anything new one product at a time. First you might add a Vitamin C before your moisurizer. I have been using the Skin Medica Vit C Complex and like this although I haven't tried a ton of different ones. I did try Skinceuticals C E Ferulic and PCA 15% and I liked the Skin Medica the best.
For brightening my skin I noticed a big difference when I started using Murad Resurgence Age Diminishing Serum. This was my first active and I was amazed at the difference. My skin was brighter and softer and pores shrunk. I got a sample from Sephora.
Here is my basic routine right now:
Morning
Skin Medica Vitamin C
Kinerase Cream
foundation with sunscreen or Sunforgettable
Evening
Wash and Tone (I'm using PCA cleanser #41 & toner #5)
Murad Resurgence Serum
mild retinol every other night (Avene Ysytheal)
Remergent DNA Repair
Remergent Barrier Repair
I would continue with your Dove moisturizer for now and try adding actives. Once you have something that works you can try playing with moisturizers. Some that have worked for my sensitive skin are:
Kinerase Cream
Remergent - anything
Skin Medica Dermal Repair
PCA moisturizers
Murad Resurgence day and night
LaRoche Posay Hydro Active emulsion
If cost is a factor, I would start with LaRoche Posay or PCA. You can get a sample kit with a lot of PCA products at EDS for about $32.
I'm sure there are many others. If you have a Sephora near you you can get samples of the Kinerase Cream or lotion and also Murad Resurgence products. |

Hi there, please don't think I am trying to promote here, but if you are looking for anti-aging products for sensitive skin you may want to look at the NaturDerm products. There are only a handful of lines world wide that are silicone free - this is one. They also are free of excess preservatives, synthetic waxes, petrochemicals (the 0.05% methyl and propyl parabens are the only preservatives used and they are both plant based -), no artificial color or artificial fragrance. We have an offer on the skin care board for free testers of Epidermx II, and we do still have 8 left for the US and Canada. The Chrysalyx is a firming detox moisturizer that is just great for the eye area. Each product is anti-aging pH balanced so the use of even one product leaves your skin properly balanced, no toners are used. The entire system takes less than 2 minutes twice a day. I hope that this helps you. |

That was so cute
Hmm, you'll need something to stimulate collagen, something that provdes antioxidant prevention, something to moisturize and something to increase cell turnover.
For the collagen and antioxidant- could your skin handle a C serum? I know some people with sensitive skins have tolerated this one well http://www.dianayvonne.com/product/CSP99. If you can't handle that or other C serums, or even if you can and you want to up the antioxidant protection, the DY Red tea serum is a great product:http://www.dianayvonne.com/product/CSP61. Something with matrixyl like the psf phyto-lift cranberry eye gel may help with the fine lines. Also, DY sells gentle retinol creams. For moisture, I definitely believe a biological healing oil like squalane or emu oil would be more beneficial to your skin than your current moisturizer. To exfoliate, lactic acid isn't suitable for only the most sensitive of skin, so you may be able to use it starting with a low percentage of course. Hope this helps! Also, are you using a sunscreen/block? |

You could also try a DMAE serum for firming. You'd need to start at a low percentage to avoid irritation, though. |

Forgot to say that the red tea serum also has Hyaluronic acid, HA is great for plumping the skin. PSF sells a pure HA serum, and you could mix that with emu oil for a super plumping effect. PSF also sells a clean 3% coq10 in squalane moisturizer. This would be a great preventon moisturizer. And I agree with Tosca, DMAE would be great for an instant skin tightening effect. |

Thanks everyone!
Dealated, I was eyeing up the emu oil, had my credit card out ready to purchase until I read the thread about it increasing hair growth on the facial area, that kinda scared me! Do you know if this is true or not? I was also eyeing up the PSF stuff, I do have ha serum from psf but don't use it all the time, only when my skin is really dry. I wish they sold like a sample pack of the PSF products so that I could try before I buy...I've wasted so much money on buying full sizes of products that weren't suitable for my skintype.
Also, who sells a low percentage dmae serum that I could try? Thanks! |

Candy's 4 percent serum is the best prce I've seen:
http://www.candessence.com/SkinCare.html
I used emu oil for about 1 year before I decided to switch to squalane (I'm an internal vegetarian I got sick of using emu oil on my body) and i'm Iranian and very prone to lots of facial hair, I definitely did not notice an increase in facial hair while using emu oil. |

Hi - what's classed as a low percentage? |

Hi, weaholt. Here's a thread about DMAE. It's great stuff. I think you can get a percentage as low as 2, but I know there are several places that sell 4%. The main thing is, you need the smelly kind. It's pretty unpleasant but fades away immediately. Candy sells a 4% and 6% that everyone raves about. (I'm about to order her 6%, but as of yet, I haven't tried hers.) The link to her site is in the thread below. I'm currently using a 4%, and it can be a little strong, but it's never caused me any irritation except on my lips. If you're really sensitive, you might want to start with a 2%, if you can find it - or you could try the 4% and dilute it a little.

Hi Moosette!
I have dry sensitive skin and have ecsema... and I highly recommend http://iceelements.com
For the basics, I would get the creme cleanser, anti-aging serum, Edelweiss serum, moisture lotion and the 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel.... maybe even the squalane, depending on how dry your skin is.
If you go over the the Ice Elements site and then wander around the Ice Elements message boards, you will see oodles of information about the products, and will be able to speak with the owners and the esthetician directly to help you decide if these products are for you.
Take care.

DMAE is a great topical firmer - just be careful as many people react to the oral and topical use by breaking out when the % is too high - it has to do with the stimulation of male hormones (androgens) - Amy |
