Hi all!
Frankie at Ice Elements had suggested that using the gel cleanser as a facial wash/shaving gel works great.
The gel cleanser actually has a built in toner so using the gel cleanser to shave with would cut out a lot of steps in the morning, and for those men who use soap in the shower it would have a positive effect on their skin without doing anything extra. So I had my bf use the gel cleanser and I have a review for you!
When he first put the gel cleanser on his skin he thought that it was not going to work... It was not thick like the shave gel that he has been purchasing and he really thought that he would either cut himself of have redness from shave burn... He is pretty picky about what he uses to shave with but because I asked him to do this, he did.
Well, he went over his face the first time and really liked how it felt...
He likes to go over his face twice and there was still enough on his face to do so, so he did.
Joe reports...
ZERO redness
ZERO cuts
I report:
Soft, soft skin!!!!
He said that Ice Elements really has something special there and that the gel cleanser works at least as good as the best shave gel out there.
I am really happy that he was impressed with the product, especially because it has the added bonus of being good for his skin!
Joe would recommend the gel cleanser for everyone and says that it would also make a great stocking stuffer... Although that was probably a hint for me.
Take care.

Bosoxy, does this gel cleanser contain any silicones? I was eyeing the cream cleanser, but it has dimethicone as a third ingredient, and I don't like the idea of using silicone- containing cleanser. |

It doesn't look like it, jumping ball... here are the ingredients for the gel cleanser:
Quote: |
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis, Peg-7, Glyceryl Cocoate, TEA-Lauroyl Collagen, Amino Acid, PEG-150, Pentaaerythityl Testrastearate, Acetamide MEA and Lactamide MEA, Polyquaternium-7, Psuedoalteramonis Extract Ferment (Antarcticine), Squalene, Retinol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cucumis Sativis (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurontium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Cymbopogan Schoenathus (Lemongrass) Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Oil, Diazilidnyl Urea, Methylparaben |
Shelly spoke a bit about silicones recently on the message board... The cleanser that she is speaking about is the creme cleanser (which I love!) this is what she said:

I remember about 4 months ago when we were reviewing formulas for options on preservatives, I also questioned the silicone. My chemist encouraged me not to drop those in our products because of the type of formula they were in. I forgot we left them in.
From further investigating, we found that the ingredient in the cleanser was removed after rinsing and helps to protect the skin barrier. On the eye cream, it serves to help that area retain moisture due to the fact that the network of oil glands are so different in that spot. As mentioned, there are a multitude of grades of silicone and they will have a different effect on hair and skin depending on the grade. In my meetings with Kevin and Phen ( our chemists) we determined that the type and formulation we were using would not have a negative effect on skin and would help hold the benefits of the other ingredients. |
I am not sure if this helps or not... but if you want to stay away from all silicones then you would want to avoid the creme cleanser and the eye cream.
Take care.

Thanks, Bosoxy! It does help, maybe I'll try the gel cleanser. Unfortunately, the moisturisers contain silicones as well. |

Awwww.... Well, if you are looking for a light moisturizer, some use squalane, neat. Sometimes that is what I use...
Take care.
