| In my new found enthusiasm for BE glimmers, I need more eyemake-up brushes. I bought a JI one which I like and I have a couple of Ruby & Millie ones which are OK. Are there any others out ther that I should try...I think MAC may break the bank after my last spend (I do have to feed the kids and dog you know!). I figure the JI ones for $12 were a pretty good buy...any other suggestions? |

Mac is expensive but they've lasted much longer than any of my others.
Do NOT buy them at the body shop...they are stiff and don't soften up.
I also like Quo brushes but you can only get them in Canada |

Not that my suggestion is going to help you keep from breaking your bank, but I LOVE Trish McEvoy's brushes. She has the absolute best brushes around. You can get them on ebay for almost half the retail price. They will last forever if you take care of them because they are some of the best make brushes around.

| Paula's Choice makes some excellent brushes for eyeshadow. I find that they stay in shape after washing. They're cheap, too. |

I like the JI brushes and have a few myself (and I prefer these to the bare minerals brushes). What you have to consider though is that you swirl the eyeshadow into brushes much like you swirl the foundation. Thus, not all brushes will be suitable as they may not pick up the minerals well. For example, I have some lovely A'Squirrel brushes but I don't like using them with mineral foundations because they're simply too fluffy and soft.
The other brushes in my "collection" are mainly Stila ones, Cat Cosmetics (these are quite good and they're handy for travel) and MAC (sorry to tell you but they ARE very good).
Sad thing is that I have over 40 brushes but only use about five on a regular basis. And MOST of these five are the same type of brush but I'm just too lazy to wash it all the time  |

I really love the Jane Iredale brushes...so I would say to go with those if you can swing it.
Also, I've tried other brushes and my top three would be:
1. Shu Uemura (absolute best, EXTREMELY high quality, but $$$ and since Shu isn't at Sephora anymore they can be a bit hard to find).
2. Trish McEvoy (someone already commented...these are good brushes).
3. MAC (they have some good brushes and many choices, but I have found their quality hit or miss. Definitely subpar compared to Jane Iredale and Shu Uemura)

mmmmm...think I'll stick with the JI ones as they get a good rating, though I will keep my eye open for trish McEvoy on ebay. Interesting what you said about MAC Bonnie, on the pics on their website, some of the brushes looked distinctly ropey. Not a goood ad me thinks!
