How many of them to do you buy at once/hoard/stash at home?
And if you do this, do you worry about them going bad or drying out? What is the lifespan of an unused, spare lipstick? |

This is a great topic. Funny thing is...I never settle on an HG really. I get so bored that I know that I should never buy more than one because I'll most likely get half way through it and decide "eh...I'm bored...NEXT!!!"
EDIT: I do have to say that the closest I've come to an HG is Clinique's Honey Gloss...until they went and change the color on me...now it's no longer a beautiful sheer nude...it's pink and pearly and just plain UGH!!! |

I don't have a holy grail lipstick really. I tend to buy from certain brands, but they always end up being similar shades. I just have so many I don't remember what colors I have. My favorites are Bobbi Brown Mauve and Nude. |

My favourite is Bobbi Brown in Raisin . I have lots of other colours by Bobbi Brown, but I always tend to use the Raisin. Some, I must have had for about 5 years . I think the life span is about 2 years, but mine are stored in a box at the bottom of the wardrobe, and they never seem to got off. Although, once I did pull one out to use, and found it had a funny spell, so I binned it. It was probably about 8 years old |

Bumping because I would love to know the lifespan of new, unopened lipstick so I know how much to stash away! |

I've heard you're only supposed to keep lipsticks and lipgloss for up to a year. I tend to hang on to the ones I really like, though, since it seems like it takes more than a year to use them up since I have so many in rotation. I will throw out something I tend not to use, though. |

I find that lipgloss tends to turn fairly quickly, after a few months even. I've stopped using a lipgloss, lost it, only to find it two to three months later and put it on...horrible taste. I know it's bad. Or when I find one of my clear ones, like city lips, and it's yellow.
Ugh. |
