I just said goodbye to my Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock with Helioplex SPF 55. I took it back to Costco.
I have so wanted it to work well, so I kept on trying and giving it another chance.
Yet it was like an ex boyfriend who couldn't improve himself no matter how many chances it got. It kept balling up on my face even when I waited an hour after I applied my moisturizer before I put on this sunblock.
So sad! It felt like breaking up, and we've been together for less than 3 months. |

Lol. That's a shame. I remember you raving about it on another thread. |

I experienced that balling up with the Neutrogena Age Shield and it smelled bad and irritated my skin. It is too bad because the Neutrogena sunscreens are so effective when compared to others in the U.S. market, and it is very convenient to get.

Oh Neutrogena sunscreens I've tried stung my skin soooooooo badly! I would never go near that stuff ever again. |

Yes! I really thought it was awesome because it didn't make me look like a frying pan with oil in it. But I started to notice the balling up effect and thought I put it on too soon after the lotion, so I waited. But it kept balling up. |

I know what it's like having to part way with a product you thought would be your HG. I did that with Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil after having been using it for 6 years! That's even longer than my longest relationship! |

Oh man, that must have been tough for you. I only had the Neutrogena for 3 months! Well, I said goodbye to my Pantene Pro-V after a long 3-year love affair, but it got bitter in the end since Pantene Pro-V killed my hair, so I said goodbye with a kick in its butt. Good riddance! I actually got lucky and found a receipt for them. I took them all back to Target and got a refund! |

I stopped using it for the same reason. I'm finding for my face I've had to stick with Aveeno sensitive line and I just got some of the Ageless line which is spf30. |

You're so lucky you can return things in the States. Here in Thailand, it's practically impossible esp. with cosmetics. I tried to return something from La Prairie before and they wouldn't even let me! And I thought since their products are so expensive, their customer service should be better too. I was totally wrong. I guess your hunt for a sunscreen goes on. Good luck! |

I can't use Neutrogena at all - it somehow just aggravates my skin. I've tried the cleanser and lip balm and broke out from them
And yeah I wish Singapore has the return policy for skincare products too! But no, once opened and used you can't return them |

Hmmm. I had the Neutrogena on my list to try, just because it' so easy to get and has gotten positive reviews. May be off my list now. I appreciate your updated info, bkkgirl . |

I'm so happy to hear I'm not crazy (although I might be but at least it's not about sunscreen)!
I used Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock and wanted it to work sooo badly and it did just that-it worked badly! I used it without any other products. I used it without and makeup but no matter what I did, it just sat there on my face! If I rubbd it in it would do that balling thing. But what was worse was that it settled into every line, or depressed acne scar on my face! It highlighted wrinkles I didn't know I had! I really wanted it to work. I liked the "dry touch" idea, the Helioplex, the cost. But it just was a total disappointment. I'm still looking for that sunscreen with stable protection, good of oily skin in a humid climate that feels light and elegant with no fragrance or too many chemicals. Suggestions would be appreciated! |

Sorry the Neutrogena didn't work out! I use LRP, great coverage, no balling but it does leave a white sheen, which means I have to wear foundation.
I'm curious about your Pantene Pro-V experience - what happened and which pdts did you use if I may ask? Tia! |

bkkgirl,
Why don't you try Sunkiller sunscreens? They come in such a small size that you'll use it up before it expires. It has such a light texture and goes on matte. Plus it's so cheap. I've also tried LRP Anthelios SPF 60. It works really well, but goes on a bit greasy. However, it's perfect if you wear makeup on top. |

Lynn, I have never heard of Sunkiller sunscreen. Is this something that sells only in Thailand?
I just ordered a sample of Bioderma Photoderm SPF 50+ (same as SPF100) from skincarecentral.biz. Hopefully I'll like it. |

Do a search for Sunkiller on the forum. It's quite popular among EDS members. It's not available in Thailand, but I get it from an import shop here in Bangkok. It's only 250 baht...dirt cheap! I tried to get Bioderma online, but it's so annoying no website would deliver to Thailand. It sucks living here sometimes! |

What is "pdts"?
There's a "Just Say No to Pantene Pro-V" thread if you want to look it up on EDS.
But I didn't realize what was wrong with my hair. It's dry and brittle, weightless, unmanageable. So I tried Jap Straight Perm. Well, I seemed to make it worse. Then I thought I needed to deep condition my hair. But after I read this thread, I found Pantene Pro-V caused many people lots of griefs. It got a lot of SLS and silicones in it which makes your hair feel smooth, but the buildup is terrible. I used it for 3 years, so I got tons of buid-ups. My hair never felt clean after I washed it. Also I started to get flakes. I never thought it was caused by Pantene until I read that thread. So now I use Trader Joes Nourish Spa because it got no SLS. I added Rosemary EO, Lavender EO, and Jojoba oil into the shampoo and conditioner. I heard the jojoba oil has the waxy property. I like this combination. |
