Salicylic acid and mandelic acid are also supposed to be good for treating blackheads. Lots of people on the forum have also reported great results with the Oil Cleansing Method. |

Neutrogena Rapid Clear Lotion and at home microdermbrasion treatments got rid of and keep my blackheads at bay. |

I used Dr. H's Cleansing Cream and found that it didn't do anything in terms of getting rid of blackheads. It was also an annoying ritual to go through each day (time-consuming and awkward) and expensive to boot.
Microfoliant is just a very gentle exfoliant--it won't do anything for blackheads either.
I had rather stubborn blackheads on my nose for years and they were getting worse lately. I began using a combination of AHAs at night and BHAs in the morning, along with the Clarisonic face brush twice daily. My nose cleared up nicely from blackheads and my pores seem much more refined.
Since it's winter, I've shifted to using MaMa (the acids in this are supposed to be gentler than the glycolic acids I was using before) and Green Cream (a retinol product) at night, alternating between the two. I am using a sample of Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid during the day, but have also started testing Diane Yvonne's Exfol Serum. The whole routine, though, is working really well for me--my stubborn acne scars are finally lightening up and my skin is overall clearer and more refined than it's been in years.
HTH and good luck! |

For blackheads I would advise a nice hydrating cleanser and gentle exfoliant along with a good moisturizer. If after a couple of weeks you do not see any change then extraction may be necessary.
For me I used to have a horrible time with blackheads around my nose area that were caused due to dry skin.
I had used sooo many products to get rid of them, but even when I would they would come right back!
When I started using the Ice Elements creme cleanser, Anti-Aging serum, normal to dry moisturizer and 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel they started to slowly disapear and within 3 weeks they were just about gone and now I have none... and I have not had a problem with them since.
I have since added other products that probably help including the Radiance cleanser and souffle, however the basic products truely hydrated my skin and the 2mm gently exfoliated it to rid me of the problem.
I am not sure what products will be demo'd, however if you are interested hsn will have shows of the Ice Elements products tomorrow at 2am, 1pm and 5pm.
Good luck!

Mario Badescu silver powder is very effective! I use it to remove my blackheads. once or twice a week, and my nose looks very clean. $12 for a 1 oz. jar, so cheap. |

Glad to help
Though if you really want to try it, there's a homemade version listed in the DIY thread. |

Try Skinceuticals Retinol 0.5. That is the only product works for me. Tried Dr. H. Cleansing Cleam, Essential Balm and MB Silver Powder, they didn't work. |

I'm using avene retinal 0.5 and I noticed a HUGE reduction of the blackheads on my nose. My skin texture has improved too. I have also been using 4000-5000mg MSM and 1000mg vitamin C daily. |

I'm working w/ Shelly at Ice Elements about unclogging my pores. She advised me that when I see an increase in blackheads that's almost a sure sign of needing HYDRATION. HTH |
