This is my first review on the forum, but I am just in love with this sunscreen, so I just had to post this. I am very fair and I have always had to wear sunscreen everyday or I would burn just driving around in my car. Up until the last month or so, I have been using Origins Silent Treatment SPF 15. But I recently quit my job and found that now that I am not wearing makeup very often, the SPF 15 is not enough to keep me from burning or freckling. I am quite picky about my sunscreen because I have a tendancy towards oily skin and it is very hard to find light sunscreens that are not moisturizers.
Well, I stumbled onto Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion SPF 33 PA ++. It is just awesome. It is has a very thin and light texture with a pleasant smell. It just melts into your skin and does not leave a greasy or shiny film. It is water resistant and lasts all day long. The active ingrediants are Octinoxate 7.4% and zinc oxide 9.3%.
From the Shiseido webside...
Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion SPF 33 PA++
For Face/Body, Very Water-Resistant 100ml/ 3.3 fl.oz. $ 27.00
Ultra light to the touch, and exceptionally smooth this sunscreen lotion protects the entire face and body against powerful UVA and UVB rays. With superior antioxidant and retexurizing agent, it also protects against sun-induced premature signs of aging.
Dual Sun Protection System: Combines external defense against UVA and UVB rays and internal strength by hydrating, retexturizing, and preventing oxidation and cell damage.
Ultra light lotion glides on evenly with no stickiness or white residue.
Perspiration-resistant.
PABA-free.
To Use: Shake well and smooth on generously over face and body 30 minutes before sun exposure. See sun safety tips.
*The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends all Shiseido Suncare products with SPF 15 or higher as effective UV sunscreens.

I've been using Japanese brands for quite a few years, some of my friends too. Usually first-time users of Shiseido Sunscreens will really love the products. But if you have a chance to compare the ones you bought in North American and the ones available only in Japan, you'll know that the best ones are still "JAPAN ONLY". Shiseido is good for Normal to Dry skins in general. I use the SPF50 one I purchased from Tokyo when I go to beach. |

Yes, yes, I totally agree with ritasky, I used to love shishedo but not anymore in here (US), it seems like they have different formulations as compared with those manufactured in Japan, I heard that the difference is basically becasue of the fact that they need to adjust to fit it to American's skin texture... so, whenever I have the chance buying the "made in Japan" ones, I would do so |
