Do you use a little scooper thing of some sort? If yes, please let me know where to find these so I can get some! I am not referring to putting the minerals on a brush and tapping them into a lid or bowl from the brush. I am thinking of mixing minerals that I have to get a better color, and I wanted a small scoop of some sort. Thanks! Very Happy

Hi Marci, have you considered using a stainless steel or plastic measuring spoon? That way you'd even be able to mix your colors knowing the amount of each used (say, 1/8 tsp. of color X + 1/4 tsp. of color Y). You can get them really inexpensively at the dollar store so you can use a set exclusively for your MMU!

Lately I've been mixing my Pure Luxe "April's Mix" finishing powder together with their "Beach Babe" bronzer as an all-in-one finishing powder/bronzer combo and I'm really thinking of getting an extra set of measuring spoons for that purpose so I know exactly how to duplicate the color ratios. Right now its a bit hit and miss - some days the ratio is perfect, other days not!

HTH! Very Happy

Ooh, MermaidGirl! I have both those mixes from PL - but I never would have thought to put them together! thanks for the idea.
I mixing up my own colours.
I'm afraid I'm a bit messy, I do random dollops and shakes, and I use the end of my tweezers as a scoop.
I'd love to have some teeny weeny spoons, though. That would add to the fun.

omgosh Mermaidgirl, what a brilliant idea! I never thought of using April's Mix with anything else! When I mix, it's really random, basically pouring out how much I think it's necessary Laughing I should go find some teeny spoons as well!

Catski and Dr. Penguin: yeah, I just started mixing the two together recently. It was more of a product of my running late every once in a while and needing to cut time corners than wanting to play mad scientist MUA! It works out really well.

The idea of the measuring spoons was inspired - my "light-bulb" realization that I was having trouble duplicating my color ratios on a day-to-day basis by just randomly shaking and mixing. I am going to the dollar store this weekend to get a special set to use for MMU. I also think I will use an empty sifter jar to spoon my colors into and then shake the sense outta 'em to mix them. That way I'll avoid any streakiness that might occur from just dumping random amounts in my hand and stirring them together with the end of a makeup brush!

Nope, that never occurred to me -- I think 1/8 tsp is a lot, but I will try to find the ones that say "pinch, dash, etc." I think that's more in line with what I'm looking for, for now. Thanks for the idea! Very Happy
