Hi ladies,
I was wondering how to use a product like PSF micro resurfacing cream or epidermX microdermabrasion with acid treatments--I am currently using a 5% glycolic acid gel.
I thought I read somewhere that acids should not be used with microdermabrasion.
Any thoughts? Thanks! |

HI Skincareaddicted, over the last 6 years I have found some people can tolerate Epidermx and glycolics together - we always leave it up to you and your skin care professional. I will tell you our Plastic Surgeons in CA and Canada use the Epidermx II before they do chemical peels - they have found that it boosts the results from the peels - so that says something. Why don't you do a test patch in a small area and see what happens? Some people use them at alernating times too with success. Hope this helps! Amy |

Amy, how long on average should one wait before using a chemical peel after using EpidermX? Do you mean the plastics surgeons use it directly before preforming chemical peels? Thanks! |

I have fairly resistent oily skin.
Most nights I:
cleanse
Epiderm II
ISC Active and ISC Firming
Eye product
I have not had any problems at all.
I know there have been a few threads talking about the "thinning" of skin from use of scrubs and/or acids. I have not had any of these types of problems. Quite the contrary: if I do not exfoliate regularly, I end up with very congested, cruddy skin!
If I were you, I would proceed with patch test and intermittent use and see how your skin tolerates it.

i dunno want kind of micrderm.you are doing, sounds like an at home treatment??
but my two cents is that i had a course of micro done awhile back and my beauty therapist actually threw in a free lactic acid (AHA) peel after every micro was performed and it did wonders for my skin and Remember though that every skin is different. mine is quite resilient esp. to AHAs so it was okay. |
