Gorgeous bride, gorgeous groom! You guys look made for each other and so happy together! LOVE your dress, wrap, shoes, makeup, hair - couldn't get any more perfect!
The party pictures look like you all had such a good time - everyone in the group looks like they are nice, welcoming and warm people.
My favorite pic is the one after "the kiss" where you have your hand to your mouth - the look on his face is PRICELESS!

Ladies, you are the sweetest group of friends!!! Thank you so much for your very kind words. I am so happy to have found a wonderful guy and it was great that everything turned out so well.
It was even raining the whole day! 100% chance is what was predicted and rain it did. However, it didn't make one bit of difference...I was way too nervous to care about a little moisture. On the way over, Alain said, "Elle est nerveuse" to his brother-in-law, Jocelin, who was nice enough to drive us.  I'm sure no translation is needed!
After the party, which we had only intended to stay at for an hour or so...ha, it turned into about 5 hours of Le Fun, we decided to get a taxi since we'd both been enjoying the wine/champagne. Well, his father and Jocelin decided that they would take turns bringing us to the hotel and picking us up rather than taking a taxi. We were on the South bank, which is quite far from the city so it was extra nice for them to volunteer to do that - very nice people, each and every one. In fact, Jocelin is the one responsible for all of the pics I've posted so far. He used my camera and did a really great job! I am going to get some special gifts for he and Nathalie (Alain's sister) as well as Alain's parents who funded the party. I just love my new in-laws! My MIL is the nicest, sweetest person ever - she started crying because she was so happy for us. Made me weepy, too. Sheesh!
All in all, it turned out far, far better than I imagined. I'm not sure what I was expecting, something quiet, but it really was a wonderful day and certainly made up for my not-so-happy "other" marriage! We truly had a blast and Alain makes me laugh all the time, which is fairly impressive since French is not my maternal language.
I'm going back at Christmas for 2 weeks and we are shortly submitting our forms for sponsorship/Visa. It's going to take awhile, as all governmental processes do, but we know that and it's all part of our "plan". Oh, more good news! Alain took a test for work to be certified at a higher level ($4/hr wage increase) before I went up and he found out on my way back home that he passed!!! He was worried about that since we were planning/knee deep in marriage licenses and finding rings, etc. beforehand but I am so proud that he succeeded. So, with that he is going to get a pre-authorization for a mortgage soon, which is also part of the plan.
Big stuff going on, huh? My two kitties have some changes coming up and I am only speaking to them in French now so they can acclimate easier. |
