I am using glycolics and experimenting with peels, and after reading most of the posts today thought I had better invest in a moisturiser with an spf. Living in the UK is this still necessary? I don't want to undo all my hard work and end up reclogging my pores. I have yet to have a go with my TCA just ordered that today, from platinumskincare, but have been using other peels to improve pores and chicken pox scars. I know shisheido has been recommended but where to get hold of in UK, and also maybe I don't need spf 55 in this sunny climate?
Thank you in advance to all you experts. |

Or am I better wearing my clinique tinted moisturiser daily with spf 15, like this, but had been staying off being good to pores?
Thanks once again |

hi, i wouldn't go with anything less than an spf 30 actually. i use spf 50 and 55, sofina nuance up and sunkiller sunscreens. both are wonderful SSs. |

Thanks skincareaddicted, I have been following the thread and sofina and shisheido both seem to be very popular, I will see if I can get hold of it here in the uk |

Hi, I live in the UK also, and for sure on days like these it's hard to imagine you need a sunscreen.
But I agree, i just dont buy anything less than a 30spf, there's no point.
Better safe than sorry. |

I third the suggestion of no less than spf 30.
You can get lighter La Roche Posay ones. |

I have to confess that now it's winter and we haven't seen the sun where I live in weeks, I'm trying to use up all my old half-used and discarded sunscreens from the summer (I've gone through quite a few trying to find one I like) - they all started out as at least spf30, but some have probably degraded a bit since they were opened . I think you still need some sun protection, even through the gloomy British winter! |

Always wear sunscreen as it is the daylight you need protection from, so all year round. Not that it feels like we're getting much daylight at the moment, I drew my curtains today at 3.45pm, it was quite dark. |

i actually really like wearing SS now . i used to hate it but after discovering sofina and sunkiller, i enjoy wearing ss, makes my skin matte and flawless looking and i find that i even wear ss at night because it looks so nice. oh, and don't forget that if you work under fluorescent lighting--to wear ss too. |

Thanks skincareaddicted I have been reading the sunscreen threads, and getting a bit overloaded with detail as I am not as worldly wise on the beauty ingredients side as everyone on here . I am going to give the sofina a try, as I like the sound of matte. Are you based in the UK and if so where do you order this from, also did you order the tinted one, is this the nuance? |

Hi monalisasmiler, cute name btw. oh, trust me too, i am still so lost in some of the topics discussed here, but you're in good hands with many of the knowledgeable ladies and gents here .
yes, i got the tinted version, the nuance up. i think it will blend in really well if you're on the pale side. vonstella posted a link that had a really good price for the sofina, i don't remember it, but if you need it, it should be in one of the sofina threads. HTH |
