I'm a very fastidious person by nature, so I always like to carry some sort of anti-bacterial wipes in my purse. I use these whenever I can't wash my hands, sometimes even after I wash my hands if the bathroom in question is really gross or an airplane bathroom, and I even use them to umm, freshen up my armpits if need be. I use to use the ones from Bath and Body Works that came in a little cannister and they worked fine, but stupid BBW discontinued them, so since them I've been keeping little packs of off-brand wipes (whatever I can find) in my purse, and I've only been moderately satisfied with them. Then one day when I was browsing around on drugstore.com, I found Perx Organix Lavender Blend towelettes. No drying alcohol and no chemicals, just pure essential oils! I definitely had to give them a shot. They were a little bit on the expensive side, so I was kinda questioning if it was worth it or not, but once I tried them, I KNEW it was totally worth it! For one thing, the smell is absolutely HEAVENLY!! I can see this smell totally calming me down during a long car ride or plane trip. Next, the cloths themselves were so soft and luxurious, esp. compared to the old wipes I had been using. I've used them on both my hands and my armpits, and they made both feel so clean and fresh!!!! I'm addicted!!!
The towelettes I bought were individually wrapped, but they also come in a cannister for slightly cheaper, so it depends on what you're looking for. I find the individually-wrapped ones slightly more convenient, but I may go for a cannister next time in the interest of saving some money. The individually-wrapped ones are also slightly bigger, it seems.
The ingredients are: Purified Water, Lavendar, Chamomile, Sage Essential Oils, Tea Tree Oil
The box of 20 costs $7.99 at drugstore.com, and a cannister of 30 costs $4.99. Now I'm actually glad that BBW discontinued theirs, because I like these so much better!!
I bought the "lavender blend" version because I like lavender so much, but they also have mint and citrus blends which also sound just lovely. |

Hi La Vie! First, I got mine at drugstore.com, but I think they also sell them at amazon.com. Next, the smell is not overpowering AT ALL. Actually I kinda wish the smell were a little stronger so I could just use these wipes in place of perfume, they smell that good!^-^ |

UPDATE: used another one of these babies today. I had company coming over and had seriously damp armpits (darn heating system!) and had to do a quick clothing change, so I swiped both of my armpits with one of these cloths (ahhhh!!! I could feel the essential oils calming me down!), and I swear my armpits were the cleanest and freshest they've ever been. I'm stocking up! |

not that i wasn't already sold, but that just sealed the deal! would love to get them NOW, but am going to have to wait til i'm back in the states in january. sigh.... the underarm swipe sounds so perfect for our holidays in normandie. i bundle-up to keep warm and sometimes get too warm and sweaty. and the house we'll be staying is freezing and there'll be 6 people and 2 kids sharing one shower so washing up will not always be an option. will have to stay with my Weleda wipes for now. thank you again, though! |
