I need ideas on some new music to gather up for my mp3 player. Right now I'm lovin "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder, its such a great song! I'm not even sick of hearing it yet, our radio station must play it like 20 times a day! I like Country music also, but don't have a favorite in that category right now! Smile

There are so many, but one that comes to mind is "Goodbye My Lover," by James Blunt. It's one of those that tugs at your heart.

I'm currently obsessed with "Barbed Wire Boys" by Susan Warner. She is this amazing singer-songwriter who hardly anyone has ever heard of! I love so many of her songs...

I also am loving the whole How to Save a Life album by the Fray, and I am giddy when "All I want for Christmas is you" comes on the radio. That's my favorite Christmas song Smile

seriously, this is a favourite song of a friend that lives on maui. every time i go to see him(my father lives there), he plays it endlessly. it actually kinda grows on you....

the line about the teeth, gets me every time!

"And then you say wait a minute sally
I think I got somethin in my teeth
Could you get it out for me
That's f**kin teamwork"

I honestly DO like the song. But, the problem is that it's one of those tunes that just sticks in your head!

Last Christmas, my father came to spend the holiday with us. There's his little Katie Cakes, dutifully making blueberry waffles for breakfast and singing... My bf came in and whispered, "Uhhhh babe, do you KNOW what you're singing!" Close call that was Exclamation

I LOVE music so it's way too hard for me to pick my favourite song, even my favourite current one. What I hate most about liking a current song is that sometimes they play it over and over and over again on the radio and it becomes so overkill that I actually start hating the song. Does that ever happen to anyone?

Come on now Sarah, tell us how you really feel. LOL Laughing I have the exact feeling. But at least you get real music in your elevators. I'm so used to hearing "musac" or is it "musak"? Anyway, it's all bad. LOL I wish people would keep in mind that just because we like a song we don't have to hear it incessantly til it drives us bonkers and to the brink of insanity. Brick wall

My latest song obsession is the cover of Mad World (the original Tears for Fears song) by Gary Jules. It's from the Donnie Darko soundtrack and recently they've been using it for those Gears of War (XBOX 360) commercials.

I LOVE it and can't stop singing along ... much to the chagrin of my boyfriend. Smile

At X-Mas, Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" which is my favorite, get-in-the-mood for the holidays song....I also love watching "Love Actually" around X-Mas. I love that movie. I can watch it over and over and over again.

I am currently loving -

Gomez - How We Operate and his other one
See the World (just makes you want to dance - great driving song too)

Matt Carney - Nothing Left To Lose

Augustana - Boston

I also can't get Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" out of my head if I hear it on the way to work...I find myself constantly singing throughout the day "To the left, to the left"....damn her.

Another song that I unfortunately like is "Smack That" - w/M&M and Akon....God help me. It's a good treadmill song.

Maria Cool

I listen to Alternative/Punk/Pop-Punk (KROQ!) almost exclusively, but every once in a while, I'll go over to a pop station and though I really don't like James Blunt at all, this song is a killer, as in "drives a knife through your heart" kind of killer. I can hardly listen to it, it makes me want to cry!

Right now, I'm LOVING a group called "Better Luck Next Time" and I have their 4-song sample CD (those songs are on their MySpace page) pretty much on a loop in my apartment! Very pop-punk band and oddly, my cats LOVE their music too! Usually when I blast my music, they run and hide, but they actually sit quite close to the speakers when I play BLNT - weird! I think they must be punks at heart (what with their all-black attire and all!).

I found out about this band because one of the attorneys in the office where I work does entertainment law and he represents them. They're the #1 unsigned/independent band for 2006. Here's their MySpace page if you want to listen to them: http://www.myspace.com/blnt

Mad World - YES!!! I'm driving my co-workers nuts w/ this song Smile
Kept hearing it on the X-Box commercials, not knowing what it was called. Finally did a Google search and downloaded 4 versions of the song Smile
Love it!
