Has anyone used the obagi regime with only clear and exfoderm??
I'm in my 20s so I don't really need the blender and tretinoin. I'm looking into obagi to fade acne scars and smooth out my complexion.
So would it be useless to use only clear and exfoderm??
Also, would I still go through the "obagi uglies" if I don't use the blender and tretinoin??
I know I'll probably see some peeling with the exfoderm...but will my uglies be greatly diminished by not using tretinoin??
thanks to all in advance. |

I suppose you will get positive effects from only using 2 products. I just think it might take longer to achieve these results and this all depends on what shape your skin is in to begin with. Clear and Blender are basically the same thing...hydroquinone. Yes you will peel but probably not as much as if you were to use tretinoin. I must ask why an aversion to using tretinoin?? I currently am doing a modified Obagi treatment. I'm using Blender and RAM at night and Blender and glycolic during the day. I have skipped several applications of each due to irratation and applied hydrocortisone. My skin is not in terribly bad shape. I do plan on adding Exfoderm(to replace my current glycolic treatment) in the near future. Give it a shot with just the 2 products you mentioned and if you don't see any benefits with 4-6 weeks than try adding tretinoin. Skincare is certainly subjective. |

thanks a lot for your reply.
I have tried tretinoin in the past, and I believe my skin has never been the same in the area where I used it. My doc said that it was because some skins are just not fit for tretinoin.
Also, I'm only in my 20s, so I don't need a drastic regime anyways. Just looking into fading some acne scars, reduce pore size, and smooth out complexion. |

Makes sense why you don't want to use the tretinoin again.
Like I mentioned before, give your regimen a try and go from there. Remember though, that most products that contain 4% hydroquinone can take months to see any positive affects...so try and be patient. Good luck!!! |
