I have just bought my second JI compact (PurePressed Base) yesterday and I want to buy a brush to go with it. But then, I saw the other thread about the #25 brush and now I have a hard time to decide between the two!
In theory, I really should bought the JI Handi Brush but I am tempted to change over to Alima Foundation once I finish with my JI. Damn, I should restrain myself from coming to EDS too often.....
Just to make me feel better about JI, is the coverage of PurePressed better than Alima??? |

I'm a repeat buyer of JI PPB. I use the JI Handi brush when I use PPB. I love this brush!
I looked at the Alima, but I think it's not natural fiber which is important to me at this point. But the Alima brush gets a *lot* of raves, so there's obviously something very good about it. Maybe when I get some extra $ I will buy one to experiment and compare. |

Count me in as an Alima fan!!!!! I always thought that the JI Handi was pretty soft too, but that was until I got my hands on my first Alima brush. What a huge difference!! The Alima also has this wonderful shape that makes it ideal for loose minerals, loose powder, pressed powder, etc etc. Plus, the Alima is soooooo much cheaper than the JI brush, you could almost buy two of the Alima brushes for what it would cost you to shell out for one JI. Just my 2 cents! Keep us updated! |

That's it I am buying that Alima #25 brush for good!! But before I do any impulse purchasing (which is often the case), I want to ask those who have the #25 Brush if the head is flat? well just like the JI Handi Brush....
I couldn't tell the outline of the shape by just looking at the picture on the alima website as the Brush hair is black! If this is not flat/round enough, I think it may not do a good job as the JI Handi with my JI Pressed Base!
PS If only I knew Alima one day earlier before I buy my JI Pressed, I might buy their semi-matt foundation and then the problem willl be solved>
Any more JI to Alima convert here to help me out?????? |

Hi kinkybabe! Yes, the head on the Alima brush is flat. It's not quite as... flared out as the Handi, but it works great for pressed powders, IMO. However, if you do order it I would definitely recommend picking up a sample or two of the Alima powder foundation--- it's really high quality. |

Thanks for your reply manslayerliz, it made my life is sooooo much easiler!
And Yes, I will buy the samples to try out the colours and the freebies with my purchase! Now, I am only worrying about my JI Pressed because if Alima turns out to be better, I would be soo gutted! |

Count me in on both, too! I recently purchased both of these and them. The Alima brush looks quite elegant and is sooooo soft and luxurious. I find with this brush that I need to use a light hand as it seems to apply a little more of the mineral powder but still with a really lovely finish. You don't really have to "buff" the powder in with this brush either. The JI Handibrush, on the other hand, is not as elegant looking or as soft but wowee! somehow it applies just the right amount of mineral makeup so that the finish is flawless. It is so effortless to use. I had no idea that the right brushes could make so much difference to how your MMU looks! |

Hi there havana8, do you use JI pressed mineral too? If so, which of the two is better? |

Hi Kinky-Babe... I do use the JI pressed MMU but honestly don't know how to answer that! Hmmmmmm...... If I had to choose only one, practically speaking, I would probably have to say the Handibrush only because it is foolproof and gets the job done beautifully.
(I would still want the Alima brush though! ) |

Well, I just bought some flocked sponge for application because I need more coverage. It works fine last time but if things change that I would get the Alima Minerals and Brush.
So, we'll see... |
