I understand that Glycolic Peels are AHAs, but what kind of peel contains BHAs? I'm looking for a good type of peel for my acne prone sister. Are either the Green Apple Peel or the PSF Pumpkin Peel good for acne prone skin? I'm also considering getting her the Ice Elements 2 Minute Miracle. Any advice is much appreciated!
Thanks!!

I have had fantastic results with Mychelle's Pumpkin Enzyme Peel (similar to PSF's, but PSF's burned on my skin, so maybe Mychelle would be more appropriate for sensitive, acne prone skin)
In any case, it REALLY helps heal existing blemishes, reduces redness and just in general makes my skin look smoother and more radiant. |

I just received Philosophy's Oxygen Peel and with its first application it has done miracles. It really lightens your complexion and seems to reduced the apperance of blemishes. |

I love using the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel and Neutrogena Acne Mark Fading Peel.
I recently tried the Ice Elements 2 Minute Miracle and it's a great product also. My makeup went on so much smoother after using this product. |

Are you going to do the peel yourself? If you are going to go to an esthetician, I suggest you do a salicylic acid peel. This is a BHA. It works much better for acne than alph hydroxies. |

I prefer the Neutrogena Peel for the acne scars.
I find the Green Apple Peel to be good for improving the texture of my skin. |

I thought the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel helped my skin as well. I haven't really tried any others with success, my skin is too sensitive unfortunately |

You may want to try the Ice Elements 2 Minute Miracle. www.iceelements.com It removes dead skin with no irritation. I've used it a couple of times now and my makeup goes on so much smoother. |

I have acne-prone skin and use Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel "Full Strength." I use it once to twice a week. There is also a "Sensitive" formula for those with senstive skin. |

I breakout very easily and use Zia's Ultimate Exfoliant and Philosophy's Microdelivery peel with no problems. However if I overdo the Philosophy one (more than twice a week) I do breakout. |

I have acne-prone skin and absolutely the PSF pumpkin peel. I swear its one of the best things I have found for, texture, clogged pores, removing dead skin, helping with breakouts, fading dark spots and general skin health. I cant say enough good things about it, also it really helps if to apply this mask with a flat foundation brush to ensure a even application. |

Vonstella, I got a sample of the pumpkin peel and recently tried it once. However it started burning in one area immediately after I put it on - no redness or irritation after I washed it off though. I got so scared about the burning I washed it off before the stated 5 mins - is this burning normal? |

Yes! I was really scared the first time I used it like,"What in the hell am I doing to my face! Its gonna melt off!" I barely hung on for the 5 mins. Once I got over the weird face numbing sensation the first couple of times I used it I was no longer freaked out. I now leave it on for about 15 mins and have no problems with irritation or redness. I do make sure to do it at night and slather on some Emu, I feel like a full night of sleep really ups the benefits/healing for me. |

I agree salicylic penetrates through clogged pores. |

You can purchase salicylic acid peels (BHA) from makeupartistschoice or platinumskincare. Please be very careful using this, though, particularly if your skin is sensitive or you are also using a retinoid product. Maybe start out with a 5% BHA product? The PSF pumpkin peel contains salicylic acid, though I don't know what percentage. |

I used to break out a lot. Frankly to speak, I don't think you should peel breakout skin. More irritation will make it worse. Just SA cleanser, oil free moisturizer and stay with what are good for you for over 3 months. I am better now. |
