I'd like to take a poll on what you think are more effective skincare products. Thank you. |

You haven't actually included the ability to take the poll which is selected underneath your post.
However, in light of what you are trying to poll, I am not too sure it is really going to help you. Perhaps you could do some searches on both PSF and Jan Marini and read the posts first and then you may be able to narrow it down to just a couple of products and ask for opinions on just those products. Well, this begs the question of "more effective at what"? I'm currently using Jan Marini Bioglycolic cleaner and Bioglycolic lotion - after using these for a few days (since last Friday) I can honestly say that I see a significant difference in my skin. When I visited EDS I mentioned that being in a different climate is making my skin go a little nuts. I had bumps, congestion, etc So, I was given those two JM products to use to sort out my skin. While my skin is still not all fabulous at the moment, it is definitely more even, has less bumps, and is smoother in general. So, for exfoliation and decongesting skin I'd say that JM is more effective than PSF's exfoliating products. However, I think your question may be a little too general without the additional detail. It depends.. I think PSF is suppose to be hollistic. Everything I've tried from PSF has worked for me. What really saved my face though.. is the Jan Marini Bioclear lotion. |

i have tried several products from both lines and i much prefer jan marini over psf products.
i have liked everything i have used from JM so far except for JM bioglycolic eye cream, it burned my mom's eyes and i have been afraid to use it for that reason. the lotion from the same line is excellent even if it isn't all pure (i like using more natural products these days). her eye lash serum, as you have probably read, does really work. JM makes quality products that do what they claim.
i find psf annoying as i have had many malfunctions with their containers--seems that at the prices they are charging, they could at least use better dispensers. i have one of their moisturizers and the paper label bugs me because it's constantly smearing because it's not waterproof, it's as if i had printed a label off my own printer on regular paper. i have purchased from many small skin care businesses and their containers are much better quality! PSF's stimucoll c serum container was also clear which is terrible for a c product to be in since it degrades quicker when not in an amber or cobalt container. the dispenser for their facial oil would not dispense anything, so i just rip off the top and use it like a bottle without dispenser. i really was enthusiastic about psf products before. i am annoyed at their dispensers, but honestly i find their products to be so-so, there's nothing i would repurchase but their ingredients are really pure compared to others.

Hi Kristen! I can see what you mean, but have you tried PSF lately? When they were a new company and were just starting out I think they were doing those paper labels and the other packaging to help with start-up costs I'm sure, I've seen the same thing with other favorites of mine like Candescence and GOW, but I have been using PSF for a long time now and have to tell you that I think they blow away both other small lines in quality AND user friendly bottles and the presentation of the packaging is very clinical looking now and upscale. And since I am an artist, I really notice these things! You should really check them out again and give them another chance.
I am going to post my comparison review to bkkgirl for her reference but please be sure to check it out.

Hi bkkgirl!
Jan Marini - yuck! She uses nasties like mineral oil in her products....eeew!
PSF uses high percentages of active ingredients and JM's are so far down on the ing. list that you can tell they aren't using as much.
Here are some other things to consider about PSF since skincareaddict had bought up some of the past issues on their products:
1. The StimuColl hasn't been in clear containers since last year.
2. All their Labels now are plastic & professionally printed. Very nice.
3. The oils (ALA & BAlancing oil) come in a dropper bottle like essential oils. You just turn it upside down & it drops out. No special
dispensing technique there!
4. Darren said that the moisturizers will be coming in screen printed tubes and I think that will be great, much easier to use and to read.
I keep bugging him about the new sunscreen and when it will be coming out but he said they are still waiting for these tubes to come from the manufacturer. So I am looking forward to this.
I just bought the new Cellular Night Cream with EGF (which you would love) and it's in a beautiful acrylic jar with a printed box! Very Classy!
I hope this helps!

Hi doodlebug,
I am actually new to using PSF. The first 2 orders i placed with PSF was last december and they were still using paper labels for their day moisturizer at least.
Yup, i remember reading about their changing the stimucoll c containers but why did they even start with the clear ones for a c product is beyond me.
Markey from GoW has always used waterproof labels on all the products i have bought from her and so has carekate (who i really miss ). psf left a bad impression in my mind but i do agree that their products use very natural ingredients and know they work for many people. But i have to admit reviews are still tempting.
JM is not all natural but because her products work so well, it's forgiven in my book though there are other natural lines i much prefer these days like Osea and GoW.

I have used a few PSF products: HA Serum, Emergen Vit C 12%, Pumpkin Mask. The HA Serum did nothing for me, but I love the pumpkin mask. The Vit C is pretty good.
I just started on JM. I got my Bioclear yesterday so I am excited to start! I am now using her Bioglycolic Cleanser, the Bioclear (PM), Bioglycolic lotion (am), and Transformation cream (AM/PM). I didn't get the Esta-C because I recently started a bottle of the PSF Vit C. |

Like others, I started off using most of PSF products. It's been almost a year since I first tried them, and still using several of their products. I use the pumpkin peel, eye lift, and acne mud mask religiously, but have stopped on the cleanser and toner for JM cleanser and bioclear lotion. It's been about 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. |

i have only used a few of PSF's stuff and am waiting for my order of JM.
PSF:
- acne mud mask= great mask and spot treatment, but im on my second jar and im not seeing the amazing results as when i first used it
- pumpkin peel= still loving this! turns my skin red/orangey after washing it off but my skin is so soft and smooth...however, it doesnt really do much for my acne but the old scars are slowly fading. however, im not 100% sure if it is this peel
- vit c serum= broke me out, blackheads all over my forehead and nose, even on my cheeks which i never get them there! at first application/night of using it, i liked it, that it gave me a glow the following morning but i might be using it too often (1st vit c serum i have used)
- cranberry eye gel= im allergic to it, as it gave me rashes on my eye area
as for JM, i have used her biclear cream (too oily for me) and bioglycolic lotion (broke me out, quite strong) but i havent used them for as long as PSF so i cant see the results yet |

Hi Mabsy,
Just wondering whether you mean the JM Bioglycolic bioclear (AHA+BHA) or rather the bioglycolic (just AHA)? TIA

When I first joined EDS, I heard about JM skincare products, and wanted to do more research on this line. But all I could see posts were about PSF, so I got intrigued by the PSF line. That's why I wanted to see which was more effective. I was having certain areas of concerns like the undereye crepiness and some sun spots. To date, I still haven't yet tried any PSF or JM products. So I can't give any opinion on either one. |

Hi bkkgirl,
I'm sorry I didn't reply to your poll - I became side-tracked by JM. I have tried a few JM products (notably the Bioglycolic Bioclear gel, the bioglycolic cleanser and the Transformation cream) and like them - especially the Bioclear at fighting blemishes. I've also tried the famous PSF pumpkin mask and a couple of other items but I wasn't bowled away by any of them to be perfectly honest - so, so far JM for me. But I still feel that one should mix and match and try things out. I'm not sure which products would work for your concerns. I also remember you have some allergies - perhaps try the EDS customer care line; they're very good with advising. |
