Hi All,
Everyone knows I'm a Bare Escentuals fan but the color is getting too dark for me (I've used 2.3 -- I already know the "fair" one is too light for my skin). I think it's due to the lack of sun in the northeast here so I've become lighter than usual.
I've been looking into different brands, not necessarily mineral make up. I've looked online at Sacha Cosmetics and got a same of their cremet-to-powder but that stuff seems so thick . . . it's like the type of make up they put on you when you get Glamour Shots or something -- very thick. I know it'll melt on me in hot humid weather so I don't want to use it.
I've heard that Shiseido, MAC, and Trish McEvoy are pretty good -- but I don't want to bank on buying some random brands. I want something that's good for oily skin, noncomedogenic, AND has a great yellow-based skin tone. That's one thing that was great about Sacha foundation -- it matched my skin tone PERFECTLY. They usually do the make up for the Miss USA pageants . . . but I don't know whether their make up is good for "every day" use. It's just too thick for me.
In any case, PLEEEEEEEASE HELP.
Thank you all! |

I don't use base that much, but when I do, I use a brand called Wei East. It's available on Home Shopping Network and eBay. I'm Asian and use the medium kit which provides a darker and lighter shade that you can blend. It's a minerals foundation as well. I had the same problem with the Bare Escentuals and Jane Iredale where it got too dark after a while. I like the Wei East because it's very light in texture. The jars are very small so I don't know if it's a good value for everyday use. Hope this helps. |

Hi Lisa
I have used Bobbi Brown's Moisture Rich Foundation for the last 2 years and like it a lot. I use the #2 which blends really well with my yellow asian tone. If you are fairer, the #1 is good too - I think it's Warm Ivory. The Moisture Rich range is for dry skin. I think there is another for oily skin. Do check it out.

hi lisa,
I know I've mentioned this before a million x's, but I love Paula Dorf Perfect Glo creme foundation in a compact. The color "sand" matches me perfectly. It's hypoallergenic and cruelty-free. I've tried other foundations but always go back to this one. It's my make-up staple. |

Hey, Skin Addict: I have heard of the brand "wei east" you were talking about, but I didnt know that they also carry the mineral make up?? This is interesting to me, I havent tried any products of this line, have you? (besides the mineral make up). What else you would recommend? Thanks!
I also have tried the Bobbi Brown's foundation too (#1, Warm ivory), I do like it too, it gives very good coverage yet feels light! It smells good too , sometimes, if my skin is in good condition, I like to just use the Bobbi Brown's yellow powder over my moisturizer, it gives a very natural sheer look! Even if you buff it over the foundation, it looks great too, very smooth , but to me, they are a little bit pricy, but consider the quality, it worths! |

Hi pretties,
I seldom use foundation but only the make-up base and/or the UV protector. I do have one foundation for formal dinners and parties which is the Shu Uemura water perfect water-in cake foundation. It has a very fine texture and is not thick at all while quite easy to apply.
I've heard from some of my friends that the foundation from Covermark is quite good too though I've never tried that out before |

bbiz,
The Wei East mineral make up is new. I just liked that it was being touted as treatment make up so it helps the skin while making it look more even. I'm not a big fan of cream or stick make-up because I can feel it on my skin. I like the feel of powders and this one offers enough coverage I need for special occasions. I also like the serum (forgot the name, something-youth) and the chestnut firming cream. The results are nice, not too drastic but I like to alternate them with the TNS medica serum and Kinerase cream. |

Ok, I am not anywhere near being Asian. I am a red headed southern girl living in Dallas, TX That being said, I love Sheseido foundations. I am extremely fair and I have been using their sunblock for quite awhile and I recently have become addicted to their foundations, as well. I have used their Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42, the Pureness Matifiying Powder Foundation SPF 16 and their The Makeup Powdery Foundation SPF 14. They are all awesome. Try going to the Sheseido counter, they LOVE to put makeup on you. That way you can try it out before you shell out the money on fountation that you have never tried.

I'm from Singapore but I just tototally love Px Virtual Matte Foundation. It provides my skin with adequate coverage making it much better than it really is and its staying power is quite good for my oily skin. moreover, it still looks very natural on me. And it also comes with SPF15 to protect my skin... what more can a girl ask? |

Hi Skin_addict,
Thanks for the info. From what you described, Wei East sounds great to me. I am using Le Bella Donna now. Have you tried Le Bella Donna? I wonder if Wei East is better than Le Bella Donna.
