Hi guys! I'm new to the forum, so I'm still trying to figure out how it works... Well, I'm 18 and I have saggy eyelids. Last week, I went to a plastic surgeon and he told me there is no excess fat in my eyelids - and my brow position is also correct - so he would only need to remove 3mm - 4mm of my upper eyelid skin. I'm not sure if I should undergo the procedure anymore. Are there less invasive options for this? I mean, can a laser treatment make my eyelid skin at least 3mm tighter? I would love to hear from you what was the maximum of millimeters you were able to tight by treating your skin only (without plastic surgery). Thank you all! And please excuse me if I made any spelling/grammar mistake - I'm Brazilian, so English is not my first language. |

Hi dani.ferreira, welcome to EDS
I don't really know what you mean when you say saggy eyelids? Do you mean hooded eyes? My eyes are a bit hooded but can become more hooded during the day (or when I have eaten something salty). That is usually caused by lymph. I find Tanaka massage quite helpful (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4ANcs7oh9s) and there are also videos only for eyes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9UTU5NmMbs.
For increasing collagen, that would tighten the skin, Deb Crowley described an eye area massage here on EDS. I am happily doing that as well and am convinced it helps, it has thickened my eyelids quite considerably...
Also, keep in mind that quite a lot of women with hooded eyes are extremely beautiful and there is nothing wrong with having hooded eyes (think Monica Bellucci, Blake Lively...). Carefully applied makeup does wonders, there are a lot of tutorials on youtube.
Wish you all the best! |

A tiny bit of Botox can help with hooded eyelids. But then you are 18 so I don't know:) |

Agree w/Russiansunshine. Just a bit of Bo under the eyebrow can lift the lids quite noticeably.
Or doing exercises, as others note, to lift the brow/forehead could help. |

I personally would try makeup techniques first. If you look at Hot and Flashy blog/utube; she is a 50 something lady with hooded eye lids. She gives detailed information on eye makeup. In particular it is eye shadow placement.
She also uses Retin A and the long term effect is a slight lighting of the brow area. Keep in mind this was over a year to see results.
I am sure there is others, she is the first that comes to my mind. |
