I got Thalgo's Immediate Bio-Soothing Mask as a forum member freebie gift with my last order, and, boy, is it a wonderful product! (I have rosacea but decided to throw caution to the wind and give PSF's 5% retinol a try and figured this mask might help with any damage that might occur.)
Right after receiving the gift, and before I tried the retinol, I had a severe allergic reaction to something I ate. My face--especially eyes and lips--neck, and ears swelled up like a pufferfish, and I got a rash and hives everywhere. (I even ended up in the ER; I'm better now.)
Anyhow, when the swelling went down, my skin was a mess--red, sore, itching, cracking, peeling, you name it. I used this mask on my face and neck, and it totally soothed my skin. I left the mask on for 30 minutes (it says 10-15, but I was desperate), then gently rinsed/blotted it off. I didn't try too hard to completely remove it so a thin film was left behind, which continued to sooth. I used the mask every day. By day 3, my skin looked almost normal.
A word of caution for those prone to breakouts, I think this is a little heavy and may clog pores in someone with oily, congested skin. It clogged me just a little, but I'll take a few blemishes over raging, itchy, distressed skin any day.
The summary: This stuff does exactly what it claims to do. It immediately soothes distressed skin. I highly recommend this as a first-aid must-have for anyone with sensitive/reactive skin. I used up the free gift and just now ordered another tube from EDS. Thank you EDS--I probably would never have found it if you hadn't offered it as a free gift, and it came just in time to save me a lot of heartache from the itchies and uglies. |

thank you for the review, Jeannine. i've been looking for something to clear up/soothe redness that i have in my lower neck/upper chest due to allergies (mostly any metal besides platinum ans, it seems, all allergies in general show up in this area). this sounds like it may work for me if it helped you in such extreme conditions.
and so glad you're feeling better (very scary!). |
