I just got an Alima from Kate from Alima, and I've got some news.
First, the EDS code has been reactivated, and it will work through this month. It's EDS10. Kate says she expects the brushes to be back in stock before the end of the month, but if they aren't she'll extend the code.
Also, Alima is apparently in the process of revamping its bronzers, and it would like to gather a small group of testers to try the new bronzer and give feedback. In exchange for our feedback, each tester will get a free bronzer in her choice of color. If you'd like to be a tester, please send an email to:

Sounds interesting. I went to their website to look at colors but I don't know much about bronzers (but becoming increasingly interested because my sister uses them and always looks great). Since I am super pale would I use the light bronze? |

Sundew-- I'm very pale too and I've actually never had much luck with bronzers either. However, I had never had much luck with blushes and then I tried Alima's blushes and found like, 4 colors that look stunning on me, so it makes me very excited to try their bronzer too. I figure I'll try their lightest color and see how it goes, so the lightest color may be a good pick for you too. Keep us updated! |

From now until January 19 enter code CELEBRATE and get 15% off. I don't think you can combine it with the EDS10 code but it's 5% more anyways! |

SO excited!!! I just discovered this brand and noticed the special EDS code on their website - it's what pushed me over the edge and convinced me to place an order (I ordered a whole bunch of sample sizes in anticipation of placing a big order later!!). |

OK, I just got an Alima newsletter with a TON of news!
First of all, Alima is selling a DELICIOUS Valentine's Day set! It's a set of 4 Luminous Shimmer eyeshadows, all neutral colors, named for Valentine's Day treats. The set includes: Buttercream (soft, creamy yellow with silver and golden shimmer), Brown Sugar (medium brown with subtle hints of rose copper and golden shimmer), Caramel (rich, deep neutral brown with bronze and golden shimmer), and Truffle (light beige brown with a silvery shimmer). The set costs $24, and it comes in a cute Valentine's themed box. I ordered this as soon as I saw it--- it's limited edition so once it sells out there probably won't be anymore, and I LOVE the neutral colors and the cute names.
Next, Alima is apparently discontinuing some of their blushes, bronzers, shimmer powders, etc, so they are selling them for 40% off. Sample sizes are on sale too for only 75 cents. There's no sale section--- for example, just look at their blush selection and it will say which ones are on sale.
Alima has also just released a new concealer for blemishes and undereyes--- it looks really nice. I ordered a sample, so I'll definitely report back.
Not for some not-so-good news. First, the EDS discount code has expired for now, however, Kate says she will reinstate it when the elusive #25 powder brushes come back into stock . And speaking of Alima powder brushes, Kate says they'll be back in stock any day now!
At anyrate, I'll let you guys know if I hear anything, and I will definitely be giving a full report on the Valentine's Day eyeshadow set after I try it. |

I have oily skin and tried Alima but it looked funny. I also tried JI and it was too oily. The best is Lumiere! I love it! |

I just got my Valentine's eyeshadow set in today, and all I can say is WOW!!! All the colors are even more beautiful than I imagined. The three darker shades can be as a sheer wash for the lids, or darker in the crease or along the lashline, and the light shade, buttercream, is the ideal creamy gold shade, and it's GORGEOUS used over the whole eye area, under the brows as a highlighter, and in the corners of the eye to brighten it up. I'll try to snap some pix over the next few days and put them up, but in the meantime if you've been eyeing this set I would recommend getting while the getting is good, because I'm sure it's going to sell out. |

Shucks. I was hoping you would say they got their foundation brush in.
But that's great to hear the eyeshadow set is nice! Sounds intriguing... |

Charmaine-- here's the link:
http://www.alimacosmetics.com/roi/661/Holiday-Gift-Sets/
lunarmm--- There is a fair bit of shimmer in these shadows. If you use a heavy hand you can get a very shimmery, shiny look, however, if you use a lighter hand or you blend more, the shimmer is much more subtle. HTH! |

Is the bronzer test trial offer still open? Also, is someone who does not live in the US allowed to apply? I ask this because their shipping costs would be higher to send to me than to someone who lives stateside. |
