Is this normal or does it take more than 15 min to sink in? I have been mixing it was Cellex-C Hydra B5 and applying it after VitC The Hydra alone left my kind of sticky. My emu oil is Ultra by LB Processors.
THANKS! |

I would find a good supply of refined macadamia oil instead. Macadamia oil is a botanical oil rather than an animal fat, like Emu. Macadamia Oil has a fatty acid profile very similar to that of the fatty acid profile of your skin. Therefore, it penetrates rather quickly and never leaves a greasy feel like animal fat products can. You will really enjoy the smooth emollient feel of macadamia which penetrates and dries down quickly.

you can also dilute your Emu with water or another lighter carrier oil like Jojoba, or Hyaluronic Acid. (or other light oils depending on skintype and needs)
You also may be applying to much, if skin feels oily after 15 min, you are usually applying to much oil.
Some people don't tolerate Emu well either, and find no matter what they do it never absorbs for them. |

This is what I do, about 2 drops of Emu on a wet face, it absorbs so much better.
John--
How would macadamia oil work on acne prone skin? Do you think it would be too heavy? |

Emu definitely doesn't sink in completely leaving you matte or non greasy to touch, but the funny thing was throughout the day, my face wasn't as shiny as with my previous moisturizer. In fact, it seemed that the emu regulated my oil production. However, if you touch your face, you'll still "feel" the oil there, but I don't mind that. |

Tangal,
Last night I mixed a few drops of emu oil with a small amt of sea kelp bio in the palm of my hand and applied to my face. It was wonderful! I don't like the feel of oil on my face but this made it tolerable for me. |

thats a good option also.
And as noted above, application to damp skin does work much better.
I personally use Emu with jojoba and hazlnut oil, since I have acne prone, normal - used to be oily skin.
Or I blend it with an oil blend I use From I Feel Pretty Products.
Most of the year I mix it with a few drops of water or the I Feel Pretty Anti Ox spray. (Rooibos tea water like liquid with added Anti Oxidants)
But in winter (now) when skin is dryer/more dehidrated from indoor heat etc. I can use Emu neat and it soaks in very quickly. |

Vonstella, macadamia oil has been tested and is non-comedagenic so it won't be a problem for acne or skin with acne. I think it would be good to use in that case.
Also diluting down the Emu (if you have to use it) is also a good suggestion. Macadamia and Jojoba oils would be good choices.

I am with Tangal - dilute Emu with water, or make a combo. In the past I mixed it in the palm of the hand with HA or Roobois Tea serum.
I did not get the same effect from any other oil, and I tried so many(including macadamia, camelia, jojoba, etc.).
Currently, I mix Emu with some other oils (hazelnut + red rasp. seed + jojoba + rosehip seed oil), thanks to a wonderful recommendation by Tangal.

I too agree with the above poster about using something else with it, if I didn't my skin would be waaay too greasy! I use a bit of HA (sometimes rasberry seed oil as well) and one or more drops of emu depending on how my skin is feeling that day to help penetrate it into my skin instead of it sitting on top. |

Emu leaves a slight residue on me but I like it-- it helps my BE make-up go on better and gives me a nice glow instead of looking dry like it did before.
I apply Emu on a damp face, right after Hydracool which has HA. |

I guess I was putting too much on. I limited myself to one squirt, added to my Hydra B5 and it was much better today. Thanks for all of your input |

Tangal, would you blend Emu oil with the I Feel Pretty oil because the IFP is drying? I have almost placed an order with IFP multiple times but then I get confused and scared . I would like to send you a PM with more questions about the products you use if that would be ok. |

Thanks for the tip, I will try this option I can't use emu in the a.m. as I don't how enough time for it to penetrate before applying makeup. |

I do not find I feel pretty oil drying at all.
But in winter, from indoor heat and dry house air, my skin is dryer all over my body, so I like the extra emollent punch from Emu.
I am also a fan of the barrier healing benifits of emu oil. So I like to use it when I can.
PM me if you need to. |

Everybody is saying that emu oil leaves your face shiny/greasy but what i amfiguring out just now is that my high school teacher uses emu oil since everytime kids talked about this teacher they used to always bring up that her face was waxy/shiny-ish |
