I bought a 4oz bottle of L-Lactic Acid from the personal formulator a few months ago. What is the consensus in using this straight from the bottle as a peel???? I initially bought it to mix it in something else....but it seems like a cotton ball and some Lactic acid would make a good light peel. Has anyone done this??? If so, how long did you leave it on your face, and other pointers would be appreciated... thanks!!! |

K - I had to double check TPF's site. It's an 88% solution. They recommend adding at 1-5%.
Straight from the bottle I don't think would fall under the light peel catagory.
I buy a similar solution elsewhere and mix it 60/40 into my base. I apply it & leave it only for a few minutes then rinse well.
Still, use caution - I 'thought' I rinsed well but instead awoke the next morning to find I had a lovely red welt on my cheekbone (*note to self - DO not do a peel when you're exhausted and ready for bed). |

It's a mix of stuff. Do you have a pH tester or testing strips? You'll need these to ensure it's at the proper pH before you use it. |
