I did a strong glycolic peel on myself about 4 days ago and still cannot get the dry flakey skin off of my forehead. I have tried DIY Dr. H's CC, I have tried a milk, honey sugar mask, I have tried keeping my face very moist with emu oil and rose hip oil. Somebody please help me. |

Just remember that you peeled the first layer of skin off, its normal for the peeling to last for up to a week. Especially of you had a good layer of dead skin built up. I would not put anything on for a few days except emu, then try a manual exfoliation. I think it should probably flake off naturally in a few more days. It will come off when its ready to. |

Once I get rid of the flakey's is there something else I can use that doesn't cause so much irritation and flakes that still works? I'm not real hyped about the way this glycolic makes my skin feel. |

How about a less strong peel, like a ten percent lactic acid maybe. I do them and rarely get much peeling. A little flakey sometimes but it dosen't last long. It is quite gentle and my face looks so refreshes afterwards. Too bad it dosen't last as long. |

razinkane, do you have a diy for a lactic peel and how often do recommend doing it. It takes me almost a week to get over a gycolic peel and that is just too long to have my face all flakey. |

I don't diy. I get it from dianayvonne.com and its pretty cheap, 19.95 I think. I do it about once a week. It dosen't require any downtime. |

Hi Salli
....sorry to read that you are feeling flakey. I can totally sympathise as I had a similar reaction after my first application of Fruit Acid peel gel (7.5%) Prior to my first peel I applied a Glycolic Acid wash (3.5%) - as instructed on the Skincarecentral website. I was flakey everyday for about a week. I did my 2nd peel 10 days ago and had the same reaction (think that I may well lay off the Glycolic prep for future peels) However this time I used my Ice Elements 2 min miracle Exfoliating Gel each morning. The Gel is so gentle that it literally removes the skin that would naturally flake off during the course of the day - without irritating any 'dry' skin that is not quite ready to flake off. This time my 'flaky' appearance fortunately lasted only 3 days which was a vast improvement on my previous weeks worth of flakiness |

salli let us know what you are hoping to achieve with the strong peels and that might help us to suggest something else that can help you get the results you want. |

I was hoping to:
minimize smile lines on sides of eyes
minimize "deputy dog lines" below sides of lips
minimize forehead lines and "ll's"
minimize pores - particularly on forehead
even out skin tone/discoloration
I've used it before with OK success a few years ago. I think my skin has gotten dryer and more sensitive though. |

Hi salli - also, try not to force or pick the skin off. You may be left with red marks that take a long time to fade. I did this once because I had a function to go to and I had red marks that were really hard to cover up. They took a few weeks to completely heal. Just let the dry stuff fall off naturally, it won't take long. |

If you had seen me on Sunday. Yuk, I looked like I had bad dandruff on my face. This will NOT be a do again. Too strong for me. |

i found that valmont renewing pack, used after a gentle manual exfoliator (i like lorac's gentle face resurfacer), works REALLY well. I'm using SC's 1.0retinol at the moment only one day a week, and both times I've peeled rthe next day... I also bring moisturizer with me and check every couple of hours--inevitably, the peeling continues...
good luck, i hope you have excellemt results!
