Hi, just wanted to know if anyone has any recs for a skin concern I have: My skin has a soft grainy texture that Caspers Mum defined as keratinized dead skin (I think), and though my face is clear of pimples and soft to the touch it has this little lumpy fatty deposit look to it underneath the cheeks and nose area that is most visible in outdoor light or up close.
I really want to get something soon for it, such as a treatment, moisturizer, or serum etc. I already have too many cleansers I need to work through and also have the microfoliant (great prod.).
And if anyone has any ideas on what else it may be I am open to suggestions...I have attempted asking facialists but they always reccomend the prods. from the line they are trying to sell at their spa and I don't feel like being limited to something from one line only. |

Hi Roopdh,
Have you ever tried AHA/BHA?I think, if your skin can handle it, that they are absolutely great at exfoliating the dead skin. If your skin is sensitive, I would suggest trying something mild like MD Formulations for Sensitive Skin Cleanser - it is very gentle and very efficient for my sensitive/acne prone skin. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first used it. My skin looked so refreshed already.
Also, you can try MD Forte Cleanser I - amazing reviews on this one and Jan Marini Bioclear lotion, my favorite.

Thank you
Do you have the same skin concern? What AHA/BHA treatment would you reccomend?
Also kinda naive but does anyone know what dehydrated skin looks like? |

You are welcome
I too had same problems...My skin looked dull, tired and flaky no matter how many moisturizers I would layer on it. If a moisturizer doesn't have good water binding agents such as lecithin, glycerin, polysaccharides, hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate among others, it won't help much - the skin will keep on looking dry and tired. Try to find a moisturizer that contains at least 2 water-binding agents that is formulated for your skin type. I wish I can help you more, but I am learning and searching myself. Right now my skin looks very good, bright and healthy even though I am recovering from sun induced rash (photosensitive from the birth control pills).
This is what I am using right now:
AM/PM - MD Formulations Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin
Jan Marini Bioclear Lotion (T-zone only)
Kinerase (I am still waiting to see if it helps my skin, it sure doesn't hurt it)
PM - MD Formulations Critical Care (I got a sample so I just started using it, but I love it so far).I intend to introduce more products to my skin, but for now I try to keep it simple until my skin recovers. I have combo/acne prone/sensitive skin.
Since you already have too many cleansers, try to stick with the one that won't strip your skin making it feel very tight and dry. Jan Marini's Bioclear lotion is an excellent exfoliator and I would highly recommend that, but you might need an additional moisturizer on top of that.Hope this helps.

you wanna try dermalogica microfoliant? it's dermalogica's star product. it does wonders for my skin (make it brighter) and it's gentle enough to be used daily (though I try to use it every other day instead to save costs). If your skin is more to the dry side, I won't rececommend you to use it daily too as I heard ppl complain that it can be too drying for their dry skin. My skin is oily so it's ok. Hope this helps |

I get your skin every winter. What I do is exfoliate and moisturize. Duh, right?
I use the Decleor Purete Exfoliante - Exfoliating Face Gel every other day and use the Skinceuticals B5 gel. That gel is the best thing in the world to get your skin to hold on to moisture. In your case I might use a moisturizer after the gel. Since it is now warm where I live, I just use the gel.
For a treatment I use theDecleor Hydra Floral Intensive Gentle Hydrating Mask once a week.
For toner I use the Peter Thomas Roth Oxygen Mist -which is new for me but I love it. |

Roopdh,
How about something with Glycolic Acid from MD Formulations (or any other line that does Glycolic Acid stuff for that matter). I have had times when my skin had these little bumps all over. Not very noticeable except in light and at an angle. Anyway, MDF worked well to get rid of them. I was using a combo of MDF products though: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1374&highlight=md+regime
