I recently did a lactic acid peel and the instructions suggested using emu oil as a healing and moisture loss treatment directly afterwards. I found that after an hour the oil was still atop my face and not absorbed. No, it wasn't triple milled like the one sold here on EDS, maybe that's why. A little goes a long way.
I have combo skin with a little dryness around the eye area. I am finding this problem with alot of the night repair products too. What suggestions do you have for a good working but light night repair? |

Maybe you could try combining your Emu Oil with another moisturiser such as Hyauloronic Acid or Squalane which would help the Emu to absorb.
I am using DY's Ultra Emu Oil as part of my nightime skincare routine and I find that by mixing a few drops of Emu Oil with a couple of drops of HA really helps to 'lock in' the Emu Oil

I second this. For a long time I was using the emu on its own & finding my face looked like an oil slick. Then I read somewhere on here about adding HA to it, it works beautifully. The other thing to remember is a little goes a long long way. |

Thanks, I have a small bottle of this which I haven't completely used so I will give it a try. |

I also think you should mix it with HA or something to ease absorbtion. If I am lazy I just mix it with some water in the palm of my hand before applying.

It takes very little emu oil to moisturize; how much did you use? I've tried a number of products for after peels and my favorite is to spray my face with Avene Thermal Water and then apply two drops of emu oil. The water is soothing and helps the oil to spread more easily. It also seems to help it absorb. If you use it that way, you can actual moisturize a few times a day. |

I have mixed a small amount of emu oil into my regular night cream. This has helped enormously with thin crepey skin on my neck and back of hands (due to recently developing an allergic reaction to chemical sunscreens). I am 43 but have slightly oily skin, and no oils are absorbed into my skin, no matter how careful I am to apply a small amount, but the emu oil soaked in quite nicely when mixed into a cream.
Don't waste your money on the so called triple milled emu oil. I asked a chemist friend about it and he said it is no better for the skin, and although it does sink in a little bit better, you're just as well off blotting the excess off your face before going to bed. |

This is really interesting. I'm surprised that oil and water can mix.
I'm off to try it immediately, as I dont have any HA, but I DO have water! |

Catski, I think the best way is to apply emu oil on a damp skin. It helps with absorbtion a lot. |

I am using a serum with emu oil and other ingredients from Marie Veronique. It is called Serumdipity and the texture is superb. It absorbs very well, but leaves my skin glowing. |
