Hi!
After reading all the reviews on EDS I have decided to introduce Ystheal into my routine. So today I went and got the Ystheal creme from my local Boots the Chemist.
I have normal/combination skin that used to break out on my T zone (chin mainly) but is now fairly well behaved unless a product I try doesn't suit (for example, sadly the Valmont Elixir cream I won in the EDS raffle broke me out in small pimples but that's another review! - I passed it on to my Mother who adores it though so its all good!). Anyway I intially tried out the Emulsion tester but it felt a little too light so I ended up buying the creme version. However I looked up some reviews on MUA and a few people said that the Creme broke them out so I'm now wondering if I should have got the Emulsion after all!
Any combi/oily breakout prone ladies out there use this with out problems?
Thanks! |

I haven't tried the cream but yes, on MUA quite alot of people broke out from it. The emulsion is not recommended because of the polyacramide in it. There are other Avene retinoid options though - Retrinal and Eluage. |

I have the cream and have repurchased many times. I have oily sensitive skin. If you are concerned that the cream will make your skin too oily you can always just it on dry areas.
I love to use it around the eye area (great eye cream) and neck. |

Thanks!
I tried it last night and it seemed very light - I almost put my usual night oil over it after the recommended 30 min wait but in the end only needed a little eye cream. It doesn't 'feel' like it would break me out if you see what I mean.
I'm going to give it a week or so (from experience if it's going to break me out it'll do it in that time frame), if I do break out I'll use it as an eye cream or on my hands or something and try one of the others. (I had heard the emulsion had polyacramide in it which was another reason to try the creme version.
I looked at the Eluage (I'm in the UK and I don't think you can get Retrinal here - not seen it?) but some reviewers had said it was more 'active' due to the HAF so as I haven't used a retinoid before thought I'd better start out with the Ystheal.
Has anyone tried the Ystheal body product?

Yup Eluage may not be good for 1st time users because it's more potent due to the HA in it. Do update us about the cream then. |

I don't break out easily so not much help here.
I use the cream when the weather is cold or dry and the gel during the summer. I also use the cream on my eyes (vs. the eye gel).
The big thing I notice between retinol products is the redness and irritation. I loved Green Cream but it made my face red, itch and peel if used every day. |

Rjez,
Thanks I had heard that the Green Cream was a bit too much for some skins - I'm hoping the Ystheal will be a little more gentle
Going to use it every other night to begin with (though the temptation is to use it every night)
I'm going to be keeping a very close (obsessive? ) eye on my skin for any irrition. |

I'm having a senior moment on the name but there is an alcohol or similar in Green Cream that is probably the irritation culprit. Have you looked at Avene's Diroseal? I don't know anyone who's used it but it's retinaldehyde for people with rosacea. I always wonder if that's more gentle. |

I did see the diroseal but as it said it was for redness I didn't investigate further and didn't realise it was a retinoid too! Just looked it up on the Avene site - looks great and might be a nice idea for extra sensitive skins. Looks like its also green tinted so not sure about that but imagine it would be fab for redness.
I might look into it further if my skin doesn't like the Ystheal!
Thanks for that! |

I've got the Disoreal by accident - someone gave it to me. It's got the same concentration of Retinaldehyde as Ystheal. I don't feel there's much difference between the two really, but I've never used it long-term to know if its as effective. |

I also had tried Green Cream. It was quite the rave on MUA. I used level 6 at first and did not really see any major difference. Then I tried level 9. I was using twice weekly (night) and decided to try for three times weekly. Well, what a mistake...my face was so red, blotchy and products that I was able to use previously with no problems stung.
So I stopped all "treatments" and went back to basic cleansing and basic moisturizer and ss during the day. I had used Ystheal years earlier (recommended by a very smart SA at SDM when it first came to Canada). I remembered having good results so I went back to it after a couple of months and eased into the treatments = Ystheal cream, etc.
I have Eulage treatment concentrate for "lines". I will post later on this. I am using on crowfeet.
I found Green Cream to be very over hyped personally. Also if you go to their community forum they will take you "push to the next level" even for folks that are peeling, redness, etc. I think it just is not for everyone but their forum would NEVER admit that. So I think I stayed with it longer than I should have.
Oh BTW I am breakout prone. I did not have breakouts with either product. Ystheal seems to help calm my skin and I wake up looking refreshed not blotchy. |

Thanks Autumn - I think I'll steer clear of Green Cream for the time being!!!
Glad to hear you didn't have problems with the Ystheal breaking you out - it doesn't 'feel' like it would break me out but you never know till you try it over a longer period do you?
Anyone used the body version? |

Lucia, I started Ystheal emulsion 2 weeks ago, and I use it every other night. So far, no breakouts and no irritation. My skin is prone to breakouts and on a sensitive side right now. |

Hi Lucia, I'm a big fan of the Ystheal creme. It's never broken me out. I figured a retinoid product would help with breakouts.
I switched to daily application after 2 weeks, but probably could have done so much sooner. |

RMB - thanks - feeling a lot more confident about using it now after hearing that there are people on EDS are using it with no problems - think will try to resist the urge to use it daily for a week and see how my skin looks then take it from there.
(My skin is pretty easy going in regards sensitivity but don't want to push my luck!!) |

I think I'm ready to move up since I don't experience any irritation. I'll see how my skin behaves with daily application. It seems to me that I can see the results already. The deepness of my fine lines in under eye area diminishes. I hope I'll be able to eliminate them. |

I have to say I am liking the way my skin looks in the morning after I have used Ystheal - sooo tempted to use it nightly already! |
