Yesterday, I received a bulletin on MySpace about the following mother/daughter cats, and felt SO badly for them that I put a post on Craigslist.
If you live in the U.S. northeast, perhaps you or someone know can help those beautiful cats find a new, loving home.
Thanks.
Love,
Casper

I forwarded this to friends and family in New Jersey. There are so many animal lovers out there. I am certain this story will have a happy ending.
Hope you and Casper are well. |

I don't know what the cross-border regulations are, but if they are able to come up to BC, I will take them in a heart beat. |

I feel the exact same way, Pudoodles! My three kitties are my babies, and I can't stand to see animals without a loving home. I pray someone takes them in...please do keep us posted!

This story KILLS me! I KNEW I shouldn't have opened the link to CL! Those poor ladies look EXACTLY like my black kitties (who are not related, but everyone thinks they are a Mom and her baby because of the size difference and they look exactly alike)! I would take them in in a heart-beat if only to get them out of the cold and into a warm place with food, water and love until I could find them a good home (my big cat tolerates no one else but the small cat), but I'm all the way out here in LA! I don't know a single soul in New Jersey or that general vicinity.
Please keep us posted as to what happens with these little girls. It just breaks my heart! |

UPDATE!
I received an e-mail from the kindly neighbor whom had been carrying for the cats. It's a positive one, and I'm happy to share the news with all of you.
Very happily, since yesterday the 2 black cats are being cared for by the Companion Animal Placement Program, a FABULOUS rescue/adoption organization operating out of the Hoboken Animal Hospital in Hoboken, NJ. We spent nearly 2 months feeding and caring for them while they were outside while also looking for someone to adopt them, and the fact that the CAP Program now has room is great. They are WONDERFUL there -- the kind of program that had an elderly, FIV-infected cat for over 2 years and FINALLY found him a happy family to love and care for him. So, yes, they are absolutely no kill. And they do home- and background checks of potential adopters. If you know of anyone in the NYC area who would be interested in adopting them, however, PLEASE encourage them to call (201) 963.3604 and speak to anyone from the CAP Program. The people there would be happy to provide info about adopting these 2 beautiful girls.
Thanks again for your concern and well wishes! All my best always... |

Yay! A happy ending for these two little ladies! I'm sure someone will take them it and love them!
Such a relief knowing they are at least out of the cold and being fed, watered and taken care of, AND that they are remaining together. |
