Thanks to the education I've been getting here on EDS, I'm looking into a lot more raw ingredients by way of essential and carrier oils I'd like to incorporate into my skincare routine. I was on saffronrouge.com and found pomegranate oil. It sounds absolutely yummy, but expensive! Has anyone tried this? |

Surprised no one's responded.
I use Pom. oil, but I purchase from a different vendor (Garden of Wisdom). It feels lovely and is very good for your skin. But because of its expense, and because it's fairly 'active' as oils go, I use it in a carrier oil as part of an oil-based antioxidant serum that includes ALA and lipophilic vitamins.
If you can get it at a decent price, it's worth having, IMO. If it's too expensive, there are other actives that may be a better (and cheaper) option.

I considered it last week when I needed to buy some new facial oil and I saw some organic pom oil - but when I compared it to other oils, it seemed so costly, I felt I'd be going primarily for the novelty value of it, so I compromised and bought raspberry seed oil, which was cheaper and quite similar. |

Can I ask where you bought your raspberry seed oil? I want to do a test this spring/summer and see if it really has any SPF protection |

I have 2 bottles of raspberry seed oil. What do you mix yours with? A friend gave it to me and I don't have a clue what to do with it. |

I mix mine with camellia oil and some other antioxidant stuff at about 25% strength and apply it under mmu. |

Thanks for your suggestions ladies - has anyone used both raspberry and pomegranate? Considering the expense of pomegranate oil, I'm thinking about getting the raspberry instead |

Well, I'm in the UK. I bought mine from Akamuti, an online company that does organic things at good prices.
I actually mixed the oil with some vit c I got from bulk actives, which is oil soluble, and with a bit of emu oil. I use it on my forehead in the morning, and around my eyes.
My winter face has been really fed by this, and now that I feel less in need of pure oil, I mix the rasp/emu/vitc combo in the palm of my hand with a HA/betaglucan mix I have. So far so good. Skin looking hydrated, soft and bright.
It's a nice oil, I like it. |
