Just wanted to let people know about New Beauty magazine's Test Tube program where you get samples of products four times a year. I don't think I can post links to websites yet but hint: newbeauty com.
I just got my 1st "Test Tube" and I definitely think it's worth the $25 + $6.95 S&H per tube. Inside the Test Tube I received today:
SuperSmile Professional Whitening System (full size product - 1.2oz accelerator; 1.75oz toothpaste)
BABOR 24-hour Selection Ultimate Care Cream (3ml)
BioElements Sleepwear .25oz
jane iredale - The Skin Care Makeup - Mix and match the various shades of jane iredale PurePressed Minerals SPF 18 pressed powder
Lancome Secret De Vie (5ml)
Purpose Redness Reducing Moisturizer w/ SPF 30(full size product - 2.75oz)
RoC® Resurfacing Facial Peel Kit (1.3oz resurfacing facial peel; 1.3oz post-peel nourisher)
Skingenic Regenerating Moisturizer Lychee Complex (.3oz)
Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream (.1oz)
CaliDerma Gift Certificate - $25 off a minimum purchase of $50
A previous Test Tube included:
* Dr. Brandt's Laser in a Bottle (3 week supply) est. $40
* GoSmile Weekender Kit est. $15
* Obagi Systems Professional-C Eye Serum (full size bottle) est. $75
* Jane Iredale PurePressed Pressed Minerals SPF 18 est. $15
* Babor HSR Lifting Eye Cream est. $15
* NIA24 (10 day supply) est. $20
* $25 Spalook.com gift certificate - yes that's $25 - with no strings attached!
The magazine also has a free signup for "BeautyPass": by becoming a member, you’ll receive a weekly newsletter filled with the latest beauty and cosmetic enhancement information straight from the experts. As your first of many member benefits, you will receive a $20 spalook.com gift card via email to use any way you like.
Is anyone else signed up for this? How do you like it so far?

I have to say I'm a fed up Canadian when it comes to shipping. If they won't ship to Canada I won't buy the magazine, and I haven't even though there are lots of copies everywhere I shop. |

I have to agree that I feel second class when it comes to shipping to Canada also! When I am looking at a site for the first time I go right to shipping information (unless I know it is Canadian) to see if they ship to Canada (a lot of places in the US will not) and if shipping is reasonable. |

I signed up for the program a few weeks ago. I was skeptical at first, b/c it looked like too good of a deal. Boy was I surprised!!!! I was blown away by all of the stuff they packed in there, and the Supersmile full sized kit was enough to make it worth it! Also the Purpose SPF 30 redness reducing moisturizer rocks! I was afraid to try it because alot of people said that it made them break out, and I'm verrrrrrry acne prone. But not one zit yet! If you actually break out the calculator, there's at least $100+ worth of stuff in there, not to mention the gift certificate.
Unfortunately, I think it is only available in America right now, but if you live in the US, it's def worth it!! |

Sorry to reply to such an old post...
but Skincarerx.com they have a similar program,
exept that it is all deluxe size items and sometimes maybe full size and they ship that everywhere!
right now they also have a spend $100 and you get this "Beauty Cache" free.
or you can buy the actual beauty cache and $30 plus shipping.
I ended up getting 2 of the last ones, and now the new one that they have on their site.
I actually also emailed EDS asking if they would have some kind of similar thing like "deluxe" sampler.
If EDs did that, even just for forum members it would be a neat idea!
In the beauty cache of skincarerx I received 15 items each item around.
You also know ahead of time what the samples they have are as it is listed on their site.
I also wanted to add, I have nothing to do with skincarerx other than being a customer.
their customer service is great (but customer service at EDS is great too
I actually also signed up for the Test tube a few weeks ago and had that sent to a family members house for me.
I also wanted to add I received the wrong sampler from test tube.
Signed up in April and tube was sent out.
My mother checked the contents for me and told me what was in it and it was what people online had posted for fall 2009.
Also received expired Spalook gift card of Fall 2009?
That was kind of surprizing.
It was the tube with Fekkai and Supersmile toothpaste ect...
Even tho my invoice online says Test Tube #15 and this clearly was the #13 one.
has this happened to anyone? |

I think it would be a great idea if EDS could do this!
I think I will post it on in the "wish list section". I would love small sizes of sunscreen, eye cream, moisturizer, etc. I know right away if something will work or not. |

I know skincarerx they have a kind of similar program exept they call it "beauty cache" and it is not by subscription, but first come first serve so it is available all the time and you can see the samples you might get (sometimes they have others they randomly add).
I actually learned of Colorescience because of that, and bought a few of the items that were sampled (bought some from them and also from here |

I have heard that New Beauty has bad customer service and they DO have bad customer service.
My box should have shipped in the first qr of this year but apparently they had some kind of 'issue' my CC, not sure why because there is no issue with it. I think they just ran out of boxes. They never contacted me about this supposed issue. I only found out when I checked on my order status and it said declined.
Now they say it will ship next month. We'll see........ |

I agree with their bad customer service. I tried the New Beauty test tube subscription, but stopped it after the 1st year. They were always late getting the tube out and I mean by months. I think they may have had some issues this time due to their offer for a subscription for their magazine and getting a free test tube. |

Customer service has been ok for me.
They did reply to my emails in a day.
Was charged the right ammount for my tube.
Bad customer service, that would be the sampling program from Beautyfix.
I paid online and ALWAYS ALWAYS print my bills and my bill on my desk actually says $24.95
My credit card was charged $50
I actually ended up canceling my subscription to their program before getting my items.
I don't care how good beautyfix supposedly is, but charging the wrong ammount to my credit card?
Not impressed at all.
The credit card I used for Test Tube expires at the end of the month.
Will decide then if I keep that one or now, but so far my experience has been ok.
The Skincarerx their similar bag with samples, I really like because it is quarterly and not by subscription.
You have to go to their site to see when they have the new bag and it is shipped like a regular order!
right now they re selling the bags $30 but you get a $25 off 100 coupon too!
considering I'm getting a few things from that site that are brands that EDs does not carry (itis like health food store brands, lol).
then I'm happy to get this bag with my order of items I'd be getting anyways
(buying derma e and deep steep shower gels
-you just gave me the idea to make a blog post on my new blog comparing the 3 programs I've dealt with! |

Just thought I'd update on my Test Tube experience.
I was first sent the wrong test tube,
and then was just sent the right one last week.
I had signed up for an offer that was "1st Test Tube for $9.95"
So, far customer service has beengood for me,
and the Test Tube I received was #15 with the Morocan Oil in it
There is a new tube for July 2010,
curious to see what that will be?
The thing that sucks is they do not ship to Canada,
so I have to wait for someone I know to receive my parcel to know what is in it! |

I just checked my order and again it says my card was declined. I know there are no issues with my card. I'm also irritated that they didnt inform me either time that there was an issue with my payment.
I'm so done with them. |

This is a shame to hear, I was seriously considering signing up for the magazine and the plan. After reading what you have experienced I think no way! Thanks for saving me both money and hassles all of you! |

If you want a similar program Beautyfix has something like that,
but you pick the products from a list and get 8 items for $50.
But their customer service sucks and I'm through with them.
But when I logged on to Beautyfix yesterday I saw a M Lab cream, full size as one item you can pick.
some really good face masks and a few other items.
But I am NOT dealing with beautyfix.
If you are willing to take a chance it might be worth it if u like M Lab.
I just ordered from Skincarerx and their website says you get 20% off and a free cosmetics sampler with your purchase.
I bought 2 items EDS does not sell (nucelle 10% serum).
They have a picture of what is in the bag and it seems pretty good
I think for cosmetics deals and stuff I am just going to shop at EDS and Skincarerx..not sephora or other stores (hate sephora). |
