Ok, so I've been raving about this here and there in various threads and have been putting off this review cuz I was about to buy some new products. But since EDS has started carrying this line this is probably a good time to start this thread.
I've been using JMO Haircare for more than 6 months exclusively. When I started my hair was pretty damaged - frizzy, split ends, yellowing, all the works. I have fine chemically processed hair.
Evening Primrose Shampoo for dry/damaged hair This is definitely HG for now until I've found something better. It doesn't lather that much but you do get some lather. The shampoo itself leaves my hair moisturized and UNTANGLED, yes even if I don't use conditioner afterwards my hair is NOT dry and tangly. I finished a whole bottle but swapped away my second bottle because my bf doesn't like the smell. Generally I don't mind the smell, a little herbally but the smell does not last AT ALL so you just end up with your own natural hair smell at the end. Now I have moved on to the also much raved about ALBA Shampoo but in performance I much prefer the Evening Primrose. Alba leaves my hair a little stripped and tangly so I HAVE to use conditioner after or I'll have trouble combing through my wet hair. The evening primrose leaves my hair really soft.
Citrus and Neroli Detangler HG!!!! I will never stray from this, on my second bottle. I use this as a leave in and it literally saved my hair. It takes time but right now my hair has gone back to its normal undamaged state from before I permed it. Does not weigh my hair down the least bit, leaves my hair super soft and untangled. Gives me great moisture and the texture is not thick at all. Love the smell too - lives up to its name. I hope they never ever stop making this. I love it sooooo much, it's my favorite product of the WHOLE line.
Herbal Cider Hair Rinse Expensive for what its worth as you can make your own with simple ACV and EOs. Not going to repurchase but this is a good product. Gives all the benefits that ACV for your hair but in all honesty if you're lazy and don't want to DIY - Earth to Body's Hair Rinse is pretty much the same for only 8CAD.
Honey and Hibiscus Reconstructor LOVE this product, have repurchased. I use it as a treatment, smells great. Super lightweight, washes out easily and leaves it super soft without cones! I don't know what else to say, it's my HG treatment conditioner. It's a bit pricy but I think it's really worth it.
Hair Pomade
I like this product a lot but I'm not a fan of pomades. I use this to calm down any frizz I may end up getting from my blowdryer, not thick, will last a really long time. Don't think I will need to repurchase. Also lovely as a cuticle conditioner. Smells great.
Vanilla Bourbon Retexturizer
Texture is a bit sticky but does not leave hair crunchy, styles my hair very well. Love the smell, I use it to keep my curls curly.
I have at home - travel sizes of the shampoo for normal hair and the Avocado conditioner, have not tried it since I don't feel like straying from the other products. Will update once tried.
This is basically my HG line of haircare, don't think I will ever stray. It's a bit expensive but then so is a lot of other salon brands and I know what I'm putting on my hair. Highly recommended.
Gonna try their shower gels and lemming their skincare too. |

Thanks Sormuimui for this great review. I'm been eyeing the JMO line and was a bit put off by the price (especially if I have to add the price of shipping to it) but I just might have to give it a try now. I like the natural shampoo I use well enough but I've been trying to find some natural high-performance conditioners, styling aids, etc. Thanks for the useful tips. |

Thanks for the review..I really like the primrose shampoo..no build up whatsover. I had to get used to the texture (shampooing without sulfates) but I like the smell.I swear I'm not losing as much hair & my scalp dosen't itch. O.K. Carrie's serum is also a factor here
The vanilla texturizer though...that one I returned. I wanted to use it when I let my hair dry naturally (encourage the curls) but it just left my hair gummy. I returned it. Maybe I was using it wrong? I was using it as a last step on dry hair.
Next up: the hibiscous shampoo! |

I've been doing conditioner-only shampoos for last 4 years because I couldn't find a shampoo that didn't leave my hair feeling dry and yucky. If John Masters Evening Primrose Shampoo is as good as you say, I may have to go back to shampoo!
Just put it in my cart. |

Thanks for the review Sormuimui! Is your hair coloured? I have chemically straightened and dyed hair, just wondering how it will work for me. |

Aha! sormuimui ! I bet it was your rave a while back about the Citrus & Neroli detangler that made me try it. Now I am happily hooked! I am sooo happy that EDS picked up the JMO line! Now, if we can just get Weleda here too.... |

sormuimui--
Thanks for the great review! Im want to place an order for several of his products and was torn between the pomade and Retexturizer ...looks like I will have to get both, darn!
P.S. Were you already using his line in the photo you posted in the screen name thread? I remember your hair looking really pretty/healthy. |

The picture on the lounge thread was taken on my birthday end of august, I started using JMO products exclusively end of June. I dyed my hair a few days before taking that picture, so to answer the other question I dye my hair approx once a year and has been dyeing it for the past 5-6 years or more. Permed it for the first time Xmas 05 and it got SUPER dried and extremely frizzy.
The pomade and retexturizer are very different products depending on what you want to use it for. Maybe I'm using it wrong but I'm for me the pomade isn't really a styling product, it feels more like a leave-in conditioning product more suitable for straight hair (I would have no idea how to work it into curly hair). The retexturizer is a bit sticky - u only need a very sparing amount, I warm it up a bit in my palms first which helps take away the gumminess of it. That one is more of a styling product that will give you actual hold but probably not as much as their gel (I don't use gel so I've never tried). Pomade gives you no hold and I can see it mainly calming frizz and flyaways.
Skincare - been lemming for it, probably going to start on their spritzers, don't really want to stray from my own cleansers at the moment. I am going to the supermarket where they have this line to check out the Vanilla + Blood Orange body products and smell it firsthand before I buy it from EDS, so will update. I've been lemming this forever so I'm super happy that EDS has started carrying the products. When I get back home (Vancouver) I'll try the shampoo for normal hair and their avocado conditioner and give you guys an update. I got these as a bonus when someone helped me repurchase some products from HK. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been researching lines for hair care for some weeks....excellent to hear about this line. I will try the hibiscus treatment with the keratin oil I have been using. |

I've used the vanilla and blood orange body milk and it's lovely. It's a light lotion, but very moisturising and not at all sticky. The smell is to die for, reminds me of a chocolate orange. I haven't tried anything else from the range as it's very expensive over here in the UK, but now that EDS carry it I think I'll be trying out some of the others too. |

Thanks for posting your review. I've been hearing great things about the John Masters line for a while now. I have been dying to try it myself and am so HAPPY that EDS now carries it. (And for much less than other places I've checked out too!) Yay EDS - you just keep getting better! |

I ordered on EDS the Evening Primrose shampoo and citrus detangler since these seem to get the most raves. Also ordered the calendula face mask - can't wait to get them! |

Thanks to sormuimui's reviews I went a bit mad and ordered loads of JM stuff a couple of days ago. I like the sound of most of them, so will give reviews when I've tried them.
I have gone for Zinc and Sage shampoo, (keep getting a dry patch that refuses to go so I hope this stuff helps), Citrus & Neroli detangler, Rose Foaming Face Wash (I love anything rose, it really seems to help skin), Vitamin C Anti Aging Face Serum, Blood Orange and Vanilla Body Milk, Rose and Apricot day cream and firming eye gel!
Will let you know how I get on. |

I've recently had my hair chopped off into a short pixie cut and the vanilla texturiser is great for breaking it up into "piecy bits". I imagine it may be difficult to use on longer hair, although Sormuimui makes it work on her long hair.
Another vote for the Honey & Hibiscus shampoo and reconstructor.
And thanks to EDS for carrying JM. EDS prices are much better than buying JM here in HK. |

Please do, almost all the things you order are the same things I am interested in. |

Was thinking of trying the Vitamin C serum, but does anyone know what percentage vitamin C it has? Couldn't see it listed on EDS or the JM website? |
