Hi,
I recently purchased the pocket pal from Benefit. Its basically their benetint on one end and lipgloss on the other. You can use this on lips and cheeks. It gives a nice rosy tint to the lips. I don't like using the gloss too much, but if I wear the tint under my nude lipstick it gives a gorgeous color that makes my whole face glow.
As for the cheeks- I didn't like it on the cheeks. It was too red and actually made my cheeks look like I had broken out or something there. I dabbed it on and quickly used my fingers to blend it on my cheeks, but you could still see the spots more pronounced on where I had dabbed it on the cheek. I tried putting it on my finger first, and then blending it on my cheeks but my finger soaked up most of the tint.
Over all this product is great for the lips, it has a lot of holding power, but it will go on darker in spots where your lips are dried or chapped- make sure you lips are exfoliated nicely before using (and not raw). It smells like roses and the tint actually makes my lips look plumper. Plus you only need a little bit for the lips, so I think this one tube will last me a while!
Oh one more think, my complexion is dark olive, I think that on paler complexions this would look gorgeous as well.
Cost was $24.95 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart. |

I love Benetint and have the Pocket Pal as well - I buy the full bottle so I can refill the Pocket Pal. Not crazy about the gloss, a bit like glue, prefer to use a lip balm instead. Do use it sometimes.
The tint will accentuate existing red spots but I still much rather have a tint on my cheeks than a blush on top. I haven't found it to actually cause spots. To me it looks more natural, so I compromise as necessary, since the tint will rub off some foundation/concealor. The colour does calm down after a while and gives a nice, natural looking rosy glow.
Even when my lips are chapped the Benetint sits well on them. However a friend of mine has problems with it, the colour sits in the lines on her lips (she says she blends it well). My lips aren't exactly smooth either, I am 47. Don't know why there is such a difference between how it sits on her lips vs. mine. |

Thanks for the review.
I've tried Urban Decay lip stains, and I liked them, but they didnt last that long.
I'd love to find something REALLY long lasting.
Has anyone tried the maybelline 16 hour lipstick? |

If it is the "superstay lipcolor" I did try it and it does stay on for a really long time, I would say it lasted about 10 hrs on me. But the thing is it is extremely drying so you have to keep applying the gloss on over and over and i don't really like the gloss part of it too much. But it definately lasts long!

I agree about the clear gloss, and I found it to be so drying. |

Canadian girl,
I got this over the holidays and loved it esp. as I could cheat on the beach with a no-makeup look in the sun. Ditto on the clear gloss..I used Decleor balm a levres on top. Superb! |

It is suggested that the stain blush types be put on a moist face, ie. mosisturizer, liquid foundations, for better application.
I always hated the lip glosses that came with stains, too sticky, I never used em. |

Thats a good idea, I think the stain may have been catching on the dry spots on my cheeks.

I've been using Benetint lip stain for a couple of years now. The color is a deep rosy pink. I like it as a base lip stain. I apply the Benetint, then lip pencil, then a gloss (not Benefit; I'm currently liking Lotsa Lip and Carekate's plumping balm). Benetint works great as a blush, too. I have other blushes that I like better though. |

I like the Benetint, but I think the gloss is dry, too.........
So I usually use Benetint as base and put on other light-colored lip gloss to creat natural look ^ ^ |
