Just wondering ...
I am not sure if this was discussed before.
Is there any DIY version with natural ingredient to get rid of facial hair?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi fishzebby,
I have a recipe for homemade Hair Remover. I've never used it myself ... and I can't recall where I found it ... ... but I don't see why you couldn't use it on your face.
**************************
Homemade Hair Remover
1 cup of honey
3/4 cup of molasses
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. lemon juice
Be sure to heat it up enough to where its not too hot. Stir, apply to area you want to wax and remove it with linen strips.
For those ladies who love waxing but hate to spend the $$$ on a wax from the salon.
It costs only pennies on the dollar to make and it really works!

Hi fishzebby,
Unfortunately, yes ... the hair will grow back again.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no "homemade" recipe for getting rid of facial hair permanently. Short of laser hair removal [which requires several visits because the hair needs to be "caught" at the right part of the growth cycle ... and laser works best with dark hair in fair skin] ... and electrolysis ... I don't know of anything that removes hair permanently.
If you discover something else ... let me know! Lord knows I get tired of getting my eyebrows and upper lip waxed!

Hi skincareaddicted & ariesxtreme,
Yes it's a "sugaring" recipe. I was so surprised when I looked in the DIY index and couldn't find it ... because I had assumed I got the recipe from here!
I've had it on my computer for ages ... just haven't got around to trying it. I must look at all the recipes I've got saved to see if there's anything else that hasn't seen the light of day here at EDS!
If someone had asked sooner ... I would have posted it sooner ... because I would have looked in the DIY index and not found it sooner!
Let me know how it works for you.

Hi fishzebby,
My step-daughter does laser hair removal in Woodstock, Ontario ... and depending upon how much hair you're doing ... you can figure on about $150 per session.
Now, the very best situation is very dark hair in very light skin. The laser focuses on the colour. [You can't have a tan.] And, according to my step-daughter, the reason that two to five sessions are necessary is that you have to catch the hair at the right growth period in order for it to be permanently removed ... and it's difficult to tell by looking, I guess, just which stage of growth a given hair is in.
I don't know about electrolysis. It's not done as much as it used to be ... at least around here.
I know that both are painful ... but of the two, electrolysis is the more painful.
I hope this helps.

Hi fishzebby,
I don't know if you're having the same problem as i do, but i'm looking for a solution too.
I have facial hair, i'm asian, so i think i have dark hair, or at least medium dark facial hair.
I don't mind have facial hair, but i think i have big pores at the root of the facial hair on my cheeks. And there' nothing that could make the pores shrink because of the facial hair roots.
so i have been thinking about laser hair removal lately... i haven't had any consultation or anything.. .just have been thinking...
I think my complexion is probably yellow based medium-light.
I wish somebody who has done laser facial hair removal could shed some light here... |

No, I don't want laser removal because it's not major problem. That's why I want a more natural way of getting rid of it. |
