I am on the hunt for a new waterproof mascara as my only child/son is getting married in early October in Playacar Mexico in a destination/beach wedding.
I have a great every day VERY long-lasting mascara thanks to Mabsy's reviews of mirenesse products, their 24 hour mascara.
I had used Maybelline faithfully, as most people I know do, but by the end of the day I always had raccoon eyes due to the Texas humidity and heat. I also tried Rimmel that had gotten good reviews, but it caked and flaked horribly, and the Makeup Forever waterproof line. None of their mascaras or eyeliners were anything near the hype for me.
I heard about this one that Sephora sells when I was in there collecting samples of fun things to try and gave it a buy.
My biggest complaint is raccoon eyes or no mascara left, so this is a keeper!
No flaking, no smudging and it doesn't come off in the water (as long as I don't rub my eyes).
It's easy to remove with any remover and doesn't seem to overly dry out my lashes as some waterproof mascaras can, (but I do use caster oil conditioner at night). It also makes your lashes curl! Now that I have my longer lashes thanks to the lumigan thread, I have more to show off!

Well I have to follow up to say if it is REALLY humid or a light rain/mist, it will smudge underneath the eyes. Not badly, and really not even noticeable by most mascara smudge standards, but enough to tick me off as I wanted this one to be IT!!!! (Plus it is a little more expensive than the drugstore finds.)
I have been using it for over a month and it just starting doing it.
I love my Miranesse 24 r. mascara, if only it was waterproof!
Anyway, on to find the PERFECT non-smudge waterproof mascara. |

Annie,
Have you tried a very light dusting of any good mineral veil just below eyes? I find I (unlike many) get just a tad oily there and as the day wears on any mascara will do this to me without using it. Just may help??
BTW I ordered a set of Mirrenese products off a shopping channel and loved everything primer foundation eye cream and the under eye patches, but the MASCARA was horrid, it clumped my lashes together would not dry I ended up taking it off as it looked so bad! I am now wondering if I got a bum tube? I see so many raves about it, just don't want to purchase a tube and have the same awful results. I threw my tube away!
TIA

That is so weird, the mascara is great. Now the fiber length one flakes some of it off so I switched back to the original 24 hour in the gold tube. Sounds like you got a bum tube. You might contact their customer support which is awesome. They switched out my flakey one for the original.
I will have to try the dusting suggestion. I wear a pretty rich eye cream, which is hard on any mascara! |

Annie,
I think the eye cream may be the culprit as to the smudges, waterproff may stand up to H2O but something with oil forget it, try the mineral dusting it works for me!
As to the Mirrenese Mascara it was in the gold tube and no fibers. It is too late to for it to be replaced plus I purchased through shopping channel not direct. It has been over 3-4 years soooo no way. I had never heard of the brand until I watched the show, then never knew any one who used it to ask! The could have a bad batch it happens. I was really excited to try it as everything else in the kit was great really wonderful, then one use and I has mad as a hatter! Just pitched the mascara and used everything else. Then last month I joined EDS and saw first one then another fabulous review on the mascara and to be honest at first I was think are they nuts LOL but the good reviews just keep popping up so I started thinking it had to be mime, I must have gotten a bad one somehow. You know how your lashes look if you jump into a pool with regular mascara on? Like 5-6 big points of hairs coming together from many at the root, that is the best I can come up as a description of how this applied. Kind of like my lashes were magically pulled together at the tips, weird huh??
I really love this place, I will have to give it another shot!
Good Luck with the "trick" I live in Saunaville so every thing melts MMU has been a savior for that!

Sorry to hear about that and hope you give them another try. They have lots of samples sizes on their website that are tons of fun!
I do like the Miranesse better than the Blinc, lost too many eyelashes in the removal process!
I will try the dusting and see if that works. |

Annie,
After all the raves I will give it a second shot, I really do think it was a bum tube (bad batch).
The dusting will set anything under eyes so you can still use your cream, just let it absorb then light dust of mineral veil.
Thanks about the mascara I don't like Blinc mascara either, but the primer is good at least for me.

I did try your trick and it worked! I think my Bobbi Brown concealer and eye cream was just a bit too rich with the oils in it.
Thanks so much for your tip! It is now back on my love list! |
