I got this as a gift from EDS with my recent order (thank you EDS ) and I have to tell you that this is fabulous!
I have now used this after soaking my feet and also without and it has been *brilliant* both times though I think it was more effective after soaking. It's a fairly large but rather simple foot file. It's just a simple wooden (painted white) handle with two sides of abrasive material glued on - the abrasive material is made of corundum crystals and there is a finer and a courser side to this file.
Using this after soaking my feet, dead skin was simply just rolling off. I then finished off with the finer side (again, very impressive) and had smooth feet in record time. I am quite surprised by this but it's actually at the moment better than the diamond foot file that I have (which has been the best one I've used so far). The one thing I don't know is how long it will last. I think one advantage of the diamond foot files is that they last a long time, so I will have to wait and see how the Gehwol holds up. So far so great though! |

Mabsy- do you think it would work for very hard, rough heels? |

I think so - this seems very heavy duty. I think you'd have to soak for a while and then use this. I would not recommend using this without soaking - might be painful if you have cracked skin anywhere. |

Bummer! That's a shame, this is really good stuff! I did get it as a freebie but thought you could actually buy this. Sorry! |

Is it better than those diamond foot files? |

I got this rasp in my package this am. It is *wonderful* I'm so thrilled, because I really didn't want to spend $50 on a diamond file.
The balls of my feet were just a mess- and just a few strokes on each foot this am and I'm amazed at the improvement.
Thank you EDS! |

I'm really glad you like it as well! I've had mine for a while now and it's still just as good today as it was on the beginning. Hopefully it will last a long time though I doubt it will last as long as the diamond foot files... |

Now that I've read all these good reviews, i'm kind of sorry I didn't choose this as my free gift when I had a chance I will have to be content with my diamcel (happy with it, although do wish it had a coarser side)
Just fyi, this Gehwol file is the one they use when I've gone for professional pedicures!
Enjoy, you lucky folks! |

I don't think it's for sale. I'm waiting for mine to arrive - I think everyone else, as did I, got it from the Forum gifts. |

I just wanted to follow-up because I have been using this for about half a year now and I'm still very happy with it. I'm actually even more impressed in that it has stayed effective, unlike may other foot files that I have tried before. And, it works well on dry and soaked feet |
