I usually get hair extensions....so every 3 months i end up spending $1400-1500! Ugh...I was getting so broke doing that I bought some really nice clip in extensions which I love! So every 6-8 weeks i have to spend about 150 for color only.

I know, i'm crazy! What do you all pay?

ouch! I've always wanted to try extensions but, the price has always been a turn-off for me.
I go to the same hairdresser that I've been to for, well, about ten years-so he gives me a bit of a deal.
He does an excellent job (has won awards) but I pay about $80-90 for a cut, colour and style. My friends think I'm crazy! I think getting a good haircut and colour is essential to making your skin look nice, and makes you look more polished in general. They don't even trust their hairdresser (what's the point in that?!)

Good question - what is the going rate any more and why do we have to feel guilty telling our friends. I just had my hair cut and colored and it was $145. I could do it every three months or more...but I hold out as long as I can. If my hair was shorter...oh boy..well, then maybe it would cost a little less.

The longer your is past shoulder length, the more you have to fork out for cut and colour. The most I've ever paid (and this was a few years ago) was $325. I never dared to tell my boyfriend, considering that guys think it's ridiculous paying anything more than $25 for a cut. Rolling Eyes Japanese and Korean hairdressers in Sydney seem to charge a LOT less, but walking out of the salon, you sometimes tend to feel that your hair has taken a butchering.... meaning that once thick bouncing ponytail that you could pull back is thinned out beyond recognition. Though the best thing is that it grows out beautifully, and you're left wanting to go through it all just to achieve the look again. Laughing

$180 with tip. I am very lucky to have a friend that works at aveda and can hook me up with full foils for the price of partial ones. She also throws in a free brow wax Smile

As of late I color my own hair, have it trimmed every 6 weeks and using JanMarini's Age Intervention Hair. This comes to around 85.00 every 6 weeks.

About $110 for a cut + $70 for highlights, every 3 months. So, on average, $60/month. I should start investing in some better shampoos and conditioners, though. This is where I've been pretty cheep so far Embarassed .

Averaging out on a monthly basis, probably about $70 per month (including cut, color, products, etc.)

I get my hair highlighted every 2 mos. I'm trying to let my very curly hair grow so I get it trimmed maybe once a year. I also get a clear gloss put on every 2 mos. My total comes to about $150 every 2 months plus tip.

I get my hair highlighted and trimmed every two months and it costs about $260 plus tip. Seems like I'm paying more than other people, but I wonder if the higher price is an result of where I live or if I'm just paying more to go to someone I really like. I suppose I could save money, but I am always 110% satisfied when I leave the salon and I think that is worth paying for! haha!

Oh, now I feel better. i spend $25 for a cut (short hair). I was trimming it myself between times, but it got such great comments last time I had it REALLY done, I think I'm deluding myself, thinking I can make it look the same between times.

I spung for $60 "highlights." Which no one could see. So I am definitely coloring it myself, still.

I figure $35 every 2 months ain't bad. Fifty cents a day to look sassy and hip? I'll take it.

The most I every spent on my hair was to get the japanese straightening done and that was $150. It turned out not to be a good thing for my hair, and I spent the next 2 years growing it out and cutting it off. It kinda damaged my hair pretty bad. I finally now have my normal healthy bouncy hair back! Yippee!! Very Happy

For a haircut, the most I spent was $75 on a so-called long-hair specialist who ended up chopping off too much of my hair in layers. Not sure why he called himself a long hair specialist. I never went back to him.

The best cut I got was in Bangkok from one of their most expensive hairdressers (who happened to be gay - don't know why but gay guyes are the best hairdressers!). It was a lot for Thai people, but translated to only $15. Too bad who doesn't live closer. hehe

I still haven't found my HG hairdresser. The last one I just tried got rave reviews from so many people on citysearch, and I drove all the way out to Beverly Hills for her. I paid $50, and the result was just ok. I had to do the front myself to create that fringe effect I like. In 3 months, I plan to try another place in West Hollywood that got lots of great reviews as well. This place is cheaper ~ $33 for a woman's haircut or $20 for men's. So my bf and I will try it together.

I just now returned from the salon where I got a cut. It was $85, which is average around here. Color is about $80, highlights are about $175. I've gone to a bunch a places in my area, and the prices are usually in this range. (BTW, it was a really good cut!! Smile )

On Mon. I got the works. Cut, touch-up, highlights, deep conditioning. 130.00 without tip. I have been going to the same gal for 13 yrs. She has not raised her price for me in 10 yrs. We became friends through the years, so she gives me a break. But I give her one hell of a tip because of the not raising the price for me. Smile..... She moved once and I was willing to fly to her for her to do my hair. Thank the lord that she was only gone for 9 months. Yes she is so worth it. Oh and I'm an ex-hairdresser. Had to quit because of health reasons
